Do you know when you start a book and you have this desire of have any expectation so it won't disappoint you? Well, this was my case. This is an story highly recommended it by any reader in tiktok world. And I don't like to get big expectative about any story nor even when it is really highly recommended by anyone, because I use to be really special when it is about fantasy books but...
let me introduce to you:
My whole world changed when I stepped inside the academy. Nothing is right about this place or the other students in it. Here I am, a mere mortal among gods…or monsters. I still can’t decide which of these warring factions I belong to, if I belong at all. I only know the one thing that unites them is their hatred of me.

Because Jaxon walled himself off for a reason. And now someone wants to wake a sleeping monster, and I’m wondering if I was brought here intentionally—as the bait.
Crave is a fantasy and young adult romance book. It has 597 pages and it is set in Alaska. It was published in April 7, 2020. It tell us the story of Grace, who had really bad events that triggered a bunch of particular situations. This story is narrated in first person from the female principal character but there is certain point of the story, where the author gave way to the male principal character to take the narration, in order to emphasy certain moment in the story.
let's talk about the narration, the story is narrated in a really fresh way. It has a lot of pop culture references, which make it really easy to engage with the story. What is really special about the story is that even it deals with really dark topics since it is a vampiric novel with a lot of magic and dark characters, it develops a story deliciously written that avoids in every level to be a heavy reading or boring, even though it is a really long introductory book.
Now, what is special about this book? It is a story that when you think you know exactly what is happening, the author takes you to another place where you keep asking what is going on here? It has like three different plot twists that keeps you glue to every page.
And what about the characters? Jaxon ( the principal male character) is our hero, it was written to be a nostalgic, responsable, powerful and passionate character, full of great speeches. While, Grace is funny, compassionate but passionate and strong girl with brilliant and cunning comments (even when sometimes, she is really clueless). let me tell you, what I love the most about Grace is the fact that she NEVER was written to be a damsel in distres, even when she actually was, she was always trying to be in charge of her situations, and that's amazing. because one of the things I hate the most in fantasy novels, it is the fact that sometimes one of the principal characters not only is the damsel in distress but behave exactly like that... and that sucks. But this is not the case with any of this principal characters.
Finally, I want to tell you this: 'till now, I consider this book one of the best I had read this year (that's a lot to say). This is the first book of a saga of SIX big books, so I hope with all my heart every book will be better than the other but we're going to discover it together.

Esta es una historia muy recomendada por cualquier lector del mundo tiktok. Y no me gusta tener grandes expectativas sobre ninguna historia ni siquiera cuando es muy recomendada por alguien, porque suelo ser muy especial cuando se trata de libros de fantasía pero...

Nos cuenta la historia de Grace, quien tuvo acontecimientos realmente malos que desencadenaron un montón de situaciones particulares. Esta historia está narrada en primera persona por el personaje principal femenino, pero hay un punto de la historia en el que el autor le dio paso al personaje principal masculino para que tomara la narración, con el fin de enfatizar cierto momento de la historia.
hablemos de la narración, la historia está narrada de una manera realmente fresca. Tiene muchas referencias a la cultura pop, lo que hace que sea realmente fácil involucrarse con la historia. Lo realmente especial de la historia es que si bien trata temas realmente oscuros ya que es una novela vampírica con mucha magia y personajes oscuros, desarrolla una historia deliciosamente escrita que evita en todos los niveles ser una lectura pesada o aburrida. aunque es un libro introductorio muy largo.
Ahora bien, ¿qué tiene de especial este libro? Es una historia que cuando crees que sabes exactamente lo que está pasando, el autor te lleva a otro lugar donde sigues preguntando ¿qué está pasando aquí? Tiene como tres giros argumentales diferentes que te mantienen pegado a cada página.
¿Y qué pasa con los personajes? Jaxon (el personaje masculino principal) es nuestro héroe, fue escrito para ser un personaje nostálgico, responsable, poderoso y apasionado, lleno de grandes discursos. Mientras tanto, Grace es una chica divertida, compasiva pero apasionada y fuerte con comentarios brillantes y astutos (incluso cuando a veces no tiene ni idea). Déjame decirte que lo que más me gusta de Grace es el hecho de que NUNCA fue escrita para ser una damisela en apuros, incluso cuando en realidad lo era, siempre intentaba estar a cargo de sus situaciones, y eso es increíble. porque una de las cosas que más odio en las novelas fantásticas es el hecho de que a veces uno de los personajes principales no sólo es la damisela en apuros sino que se comporta exactamente así... y eso apesta. Pero este no es el caso de ninguno de estos personajes principales.
Finalmente quiero decirte esto: hasta ahora considero este libro uno de los mejores que he leído este año (eso es mucho que decir). Este es el primer libro de una saga de SEIS grandes libros, así que espero de todo corazón que cada libro sea mejor que el otro, pero lo descubriremos juntos.
