it was a lovely long summer evening. here in the north the summer sunsets are very prolonged as the sun does not sink straight below the horizon, but at a diagonal. i took these shots after 10 o'clock when the scene was most radiant. what otherwise appear as normal gray rocks suddenly turned a bright golden hue. not only is the water reflecting the rock but the rock is also reflecting the brilliant setting sun
