Denpasar Drenched: Rain Reveals Hidden Worlds

I woke up this morning to the pitter-patter of rain, a symphony that had been playing all night. The sky seemed to weep all night with the occasional thunderclap, leaving behind a glistening city and a network of puddles that could rival the canals of Venice. Thankfully, it didn't lead to any new rivers flowing into people's homes!

As age-old saying said, "April showers bring May flowers," but this rain in Denpasar brought something a little more unexpected - a portal to another dimension... well, almost.

As the rain stopped and the sun peeked through the clouds, a funny thing happened. The puddles that we had carefully avoided while passing by, turned into something completely different. Reflected in its watery depths were the surrounding buildings, trees, and even the ever-passing scooters. Suddenly, the sidewalk became a kaleidoscope of color and light, a distorted world shimmering under our feet.

In some places, these puddles took on an almost mystical quality. Their warped reflections created a sense of mystery, like peering into another realm. One such puddle, here in the office courtyard as I waited in line for the vehicle registration this morning, caught my eye. Without thinking I took out my phone and photographed this little slice of watery wonder.

Here's what I found:

This picture of a man passing through a puddle (look at those ripples!) might seem ordinary, but for some reason, I just dig it.

Denpasar's rainy days might just be a gateway to hidden beauty. Have you ever noticed the magic reflected in puddles after a downpour? Share your stories in the comments below!
