Admire the architecture of the mosque left by Sultan Abdul Aziz in Tanjung Pura

Even though the clouds are cloudy and I have been to this mosque several times, it never makes my heart satisfied. If I walk towards Tanjung Pura City, Langkat Regency, I always make time to stop by this mosque not only to worship but also to rest and one more thing to admire every corner of the building and I always pay attention to what has changed in this mosque from time to time and the answer is that every time I visit this mosque there is always something new that manages to attract my attention.

Color and History of Mosques
Because this mosque was a mosque built by Sultan Abdul Aziz who was one of the Sultans of the Malay tribe and he succeeded in building this mosque and it was inaugurated in 1320 H or coinciding with 1902 AD. And because he was a Malay sultanate, the colors of the mosque he built were also dominant, namely light green and yellow and had a black dome.

From the front
If we aim the camera from the front, it looks like this mosque has two buildings, even though only one is the main mosque, while the building next to the mosque is a collection of graves of the descendants of Sultan Abdul Azuiz and is highly respected to this day, people from outside the city Many people also visit this place to make a pilgrimage and see the beauty of the Azizi Mosque. and the tombs of the Sultans are right next to the mosque, you can see it for yourself in the photo I took. then in front of this mosque you will also see a mosque courtyard which is quite wide, this mosque courtyard is divided into two, namely the mosque courtyard which is on the holy boundary and everything is made of ceramics, so when we enter this mosque courtyard we have to take off our footwear, then the yard is open to the public, namely the expanse of grass that surrounds the mosque, not only the front but the sides and back of the mosque. Usually, people who come to this place in the afternoon will sit on the grass to just spend the afternoon or play bicycles along the mosque grounds.

Architecture in the Mosque
Because this mosque building has been around for a very long time, there are several corners of the building that I saw that have started to be renovated with contemporary designs, but because this mosque is very spacious and all the building designs have a very classic feel so the changes are not too striking. . I looked and I really remembered that the decorative lights in this mosque were still the same as when I came to this place one year ago, as were the carpets. The tiles installed in this building also have a classic motif where these tiles are still installed using the type of tile with a small stone motif, the color is not shiny like granite, marble or ceramic, but this tile has quite strong and long-lasting durability. . The carvings on the doors and windows are very strongly Malay, and there are Arabic writings on the upper walls. It makes anyone who comes to this place not only admire the architecture but also the knowledge they can gain here. The Muslim community here not only worships, but they can also go on historical tours by seeing the other side of buildings that were so glorified in their time.

Then, the large number of roofs that are not round and have a dominant black color means that this mosque is still unbeatable compared to other mosque buildings that are still in the same city, not only that, the towering tower of this mosque makes this mosque still very popular. enchanting and shows how magnificent this mosque is when seen from a distance.

And it feels like no matter how many times I visit this mosque I won't be satisfied to continue telling stories and seeing the various changes, but even so, hopefully in the future this mosque will still be well maintained, not only because the people worship as Muslims, but because this mosque is one of the cultural heritage sites in Tanjung Pura City, Langkat Regency, whose existence must be preserved.
