On my last visit to the city of Maracay, Venezuela, I had to walk through Felipe Guevara Rojas Park to get to my destination. It was a pleasant surprise to see how beautiful and well kept the place is, although it is a few blocks from downtown, it is not as popular as other parks.
I have a special memory of this park that inevitably comes to my memory when I pass through here, I met him many years ago when I was a teenager and I was dating my boyfriend where we spent some time out of the public eye, back then it did not look like this today there were weeds, garbage and people in a state of neglect and criminals. At night it was a wolf cave, and going through there was dangerous.
The main entrance is on Bolivar Avenue right in front of the basic school Felipe Guevara Rojas, a public institution with hundreds of students who now benefit from this landscaping, it also has another entrance or exit on the back avenue, both have a large door to pass through.

En mi última visita a la ciudad de Maracay, Venezuela, tuve que caminar atravesando el parque Felipe Guevara Rojas para llegar a mi lugar de destino. Fue una sorpresa agradable mirar lo hermoso y bien cuidado del lugar, aunque queda a pocas cuadras del centro, no es tan popular como otros parques.
Tengo un recuerdo especial de este parque que es inevitablemente que venga a mi memoria cuando paso por aquí, lo conocí hace muchos años cuando era una adolescente y me citaba con mi novio donde pasábamos algunos momentos fuera del ojo público, en ese entonces no se veía como esta actualmente había maleza, basura y se la pasaban personas en estado de abandonos y delincuentes. En las noches era una cueva de lobo, y pasar por ahí era peligroso.
Tenía años sin entrar y por eso esta renovación me llena de alegría el alma, su entrada principal está por la avenida Bolívar justo al frente de la escuela básica Felipe Guevara Rojas una institución pública con cientos de alumnos que ahora se benefician de este paisajismo, también tiene otra entrada o salida por la avenida de atrás, ambas poseen una puerta grande para transitar.
The first thing I noticed was the colorful main entrance, vibrant colors welcome the public in an original collage, above you can see the letters of the name in bright lead gray, plus a sliding iron grates in black, which serves as a pedestrian gate, because no cars enter here, it is only for pedestrians which indicates that it must have a schedule where it is open for public enjoyment.
It is not a large park, but it has everything to rest and relax, wide cement walkways with designs that simulate bricks, lots of vegetation with large trees and ornamental plants that decorate the view, giving freshness to the environment, garbage cans everywhere and a playground for adults and children, this area has stones that visibly separate one area from another.
Lo primero que observe fue lo colorida de su entrada principal, colores vibrantes dan la bienvenida al público en un collage original, arriba se puede ver las letras del nombre en gris plomo brillantes, además de unas rejas corredizas de hierro en color negro, que hace las veces de portón peatonal, porque aquí no entran autos, es solo para transeúntes lo que indica que debe tener un horario donde se abre para el disfrute del público.
No es un parque grande, pero tiene todo para descansar y relajarse, caminerías anchas de cemento con diseños que simulan ladrillos, mucha vegetación con grandes árboles y plantas ornamentales que decoran la vista, dándole frescura al ambiente, papeleras por todas partes y una zona de juegos para grandes y chicos, esta zona tiene piedras que separan visiblemente un área de otra.
While walking, I observed a group of high school kids playing like little kids, spinning the wheel and jumping all over the place making me smile, I like it when kids don't hurry to grow up and enjoy their childhood, some of them riding on an iron structure in the shape of an elephant. I also found recycled truck tires that were used to beautify and also as an element of play and fun.
Mientras caminaba, observé un grupo de jóvenes de preparatoria que estaban jugando como niños pequeños, girando la rueda y brincando por todas partes sacándome una sonrisa, me gusta cuando los niños no se apresuran en crecer y disfrutan de su niñez, algunos montados en una estructura de hierro en forma de elefante. También encontré cauchos de gandolas reciclados que fueron usados para embellecer y también como elemento de juego y diversión.
In the larger spaces there were different boats 😆. On one side there seemed to have sunk a boat 😱😎, made of nice plastic, and behind it there was a kind of house with a slide, stairs and windows. I felt like jumping in, but there were already some little girls under adult supervision. The other boat is nicer, it has its little pirate flags on top and many parts to get in.
En los espacios más grandes había embarcaciones diferentes 😆. En un lado parecía haberse hundido un barco 😱😎, hecho de plástico bien bonito, y detrás de él había una especie de casa con tobogán incluido, escaleras y ventanas. Me dieron unas ganas de meterme, pero ya estaban unas niñas bajo la supervisión de los adultos. El otro barco es más bonito, tiene sus banderitas arriba de piratas y muchas partes para meterse.
Before I left I saw the information about the games where the boats are and it said that they were for children from 5 to 12 years old. If I had gotten in, they put me in jail 😁. This park is very different from the one I remember in my youth. The architecture and landscaping of our urban areas are important because a place and what happens there can stay forever in our memory, being a bad or beautiful experience.
Antes de irme vi la información sobre los juegos donde están los barcos y se dice que eran para niños de 5 a 12 años. Si me hubiese metido, me ponen presa 😁. Este parque es muy distinto al que recuerdo en mi juventud. La arquitectura y el paisajismo de nuestras zonas urbanas son importantes porque un lugar y lo que sucede en él puede quedarse para siempre en nuestra memoria, siendo una mala o bonita experiencia.
