The materials which we are surrounded by have a huge impact on our lifestyle and health. Choice of materials varies person to person.
The basic materials like brick, cement, steel bars and so are mandatory to erect the building. yes building are made from concreate blocks as well but in general these materials are so mandatory for construction to take place. apart from the basic ones, the materials used for interior or exterior depends on the choice of people funding it to be placed. That brings designers to come up with different kind of materials and their extensive usage brings a good demand in market.
Following are the images I gathered through my visit to architecture exhibition a year ago!
Wood and concrete are my top favourite ones separately and together as well.
The combination of both materials is like a complete package where wood is nature's gift and concrete is human's creation. the spaces created by them is marvellous. initially concrete was always covered through white wash, paint, tiles and so on but now the raw and bold look is much appreciated bringing the material into limelight, talking about wood, it always had huge acceptance and aesthetic importance since the very beginning.
This has been huge part of contemporary architecture, giving the space a monolithic statement, I can write an entire blog on it but we have more materials to showcase, so here we go through the types, concrete has 26 types since this isn't a college lecture so I would like to visually depicts the types in layman language.
The most amazing, light weighted and aesthetically appealing tiles I love are porcelain tiles. speally the hexagonal ones, I have clicked a picture during my exhibition visit-
I just love how modern look they project, unlike other rectangular tiles, they are hexagonal plus their surface is delicately made like diamond-cutting, which is shimmering in the light. The shiny glazed surface is smooth, so it is good for cleaning and stain resistant.
the light its surface cutting edge reflects makes it irresistible to glance. mostly used on walls, these can be used to either cover entirely or just a part of wall with different shapes to make it look like piece of art. but can also be used on floors as well to give pleasing effects.
these individual chips are super handy and easy to go with. they are indeed a statement piece.
That's a little example of application, that's how magical these tiles turn the place into. they comes with different 3d patterns and colours, one can customise them as well. economical and very aesthetically pleasing one.
Landscaping is the life of any building, it makes us connected to nature while living in concrete jungle.
This was a fun picture with apropeller-driven aircraft dummy. it was looking adorable, the base is the paving stone with synthetic turf as a display for the exhibition. it adds character, class and structure to any landscaping, be it modern or classica or any type of architecture, they perfectly fit into landscaping just the shape may be altered according to needs. They find extensive use in pathways, patio and pool deck
They are extremely versatile, more durable, environmentally friendly, water resistant and economical. moreover one can alter its shape accordingly to the needs. There are different types of paving stone available such as concrete, brick, recycled rubber, flagstone, cobblestone, travertine etc
Just to show how lavish their application looks.
That's the exhibition hall's glimpse, the roof was concrete and the ducts were open showing modern industrialisation in terms of architecture. Pragati maidan is redeveloping I shall come up with a post on this one as the new structure is ravishing, this picture was clicked about a year and a half almost .
So, he crux is all the materials are great but my inclination for above mentioned ones is much, I hope to indulge into a project where all such materials can be used.
