Today, I want to share something with you and hear your thoughts on what I’m going to show you. To give you some context, I recently acquired a property that I want to remodel and set up as a small shop selling various items, but it’s in terrible condition. When they told me it was in bad shape, I didn’t think it would be this bad.

Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes y escuchar sus opiniones sobre lo que les mostraré, para contestualizar un poco contarles que reciente mente me dieron un caucho, lugar que quiero remodelar y acondicionar para poder montar una pequeña ti nada de venta de artículos varios, pero esta está en unas condiciones pésimas,cuando me hablaron de ella me dijeron que estaba en mal estado, pero no pense que fuera tan grave la cosa.
When I saw the place, I knew I would need an architect to evaluate it, so I immediately got in touch with a great friend who is a talented architect in our city to take a look at it.
The first impression was striking—"The conditions are quite complicated," she told me. The partially lifted roof and the visibly affected structure present a clear challenge for any remodeling attempt. My first reaction after hearing several things she pointed out was concern, not so much about the project's feasibility, but about how delicate the intervention would be.
Cuando vi el lugar supe que necesitaría un arquitecto para valorar esto y enseguida me puse en contacto con una gran amiga que es un buena arquitecta en nuestra ciudad para que que le diera una revisión.
El primer impacto fue contundente,las condiciones son bastante complicadas me dijo. El techo medio levantado y la estructura visiblemente afectada crean un desafío claro para cualquier intento de remodelación. Mi primera reacción tras varias cosas que me comentó fue preocupación, no tanto por la viabilidad del proyecto, sino por lo delicada que resulta su intervención.
After evaluating and analyzing the situation in this area, we moved on to inspect the front of the house, which had a small portion of a concrete roof. Upon observing the front part of the slab, one of the elements that most caught our attention was how moisture had deteriorated the structure. The concrete was bursting, exposing the rusted iron, which revealed the severity of the damage and how neglected it must have been to reach this state. This situation affects not only the aesthetics but also the safety of the structure.
Tras valorar y analizar las situaciones de esta área pasamos a revisar la fachada de la casa en la cual tenía una peqeña porción de techo de placa en el que al observar la parte delantera de la placa, uno de los elementos que más capturó nuestra atención fue la forma en que la humedad ha deteriorado la estructura. La explosión del concreto, dejando ver el hierro oxidado, esto revela la gravedad del daño y que tan descuidada debió estar para llegar a estas condiciones. Esta situación no solo afecta la estética, sino también la seguridad de la estructura.
This is a small, completely ruined interior courtyard, where even the doors show signs of neglect. Behind it was a small bathroom, which, on the other hand, represents another major challenge. The poorly designed elevated tank has compromised both the plumbing and the structural integrity of that area. Collapse seems imminent if drastic measures aren't taken. To our surprise, it appeared that someone had left water running, causing it to flood, which made everything even more dangerous. We had to immediately start looking for where the pipes were leading so we could shut off one and use the other to drain as much water as possible before the worst happened.
As we inspected the space, I could feel the fragility of the elements, as if every detail was crying out for urgent repair.
Este es un peqeño patiecito interior super destruido, hasta en la puertas se nota el descuido y tras el se encontraba un peqeño baño,que por otro lado, representa otro gran reto. El tanque elevado mal diseñado ha comprometido tanto las instalaciones sanitarias como el equilibrio estructural de esa área. El colapso parece inminente si no se toman medidas drásticas. Para más sorpresa parece que alguien lo había dejado con agua y estaba inundando y eso ponía todo más peligroso , así que tuvimos que comenzar a buscar donde daban las tuberías de ahí para poder desactivar una y usar la otra para extraer toda el agua posible antes de que ocurriera lo peor.
Mientras inspeccionabamos el espacio, podía sentir la fragilidad de los elementos que lo conforman, como si cada detalle gritara por una reparación urgente.
The general impressions are mixed. On one hand, there's the immense potential this space could have to become a small store, but the countless structural problems can't be ignored. My experience tells me that with the right intervention, it can be completely transformed, but it requires meticulous attention to every corner. The dominant feeling is one of challenge and optimism. I think about the solutions: structural reinforcements, replacing the roof, and redistributing the weight to prevent future damage.
Therefore, my friend's initial recommendation is to start by securing the basics: a detailed structural technical analysis, and then addressing the most critical issues like the roof and moisture. Only then can we begin creating the store we envision, in a space that reflects not only functionality but also a story of transformation.

Las impresiones generales son mixtas. Por un lado, esta el enorme potencial que podría tener este espacio para convertirse en una pequeña tienda, pero no sé puede ignorar el sinfín de problemas estructurales que posee. Mi experiencia me dice que, con la intervención adecuada, se puede transformar por completo, pero requiere una atención minuciosa a cada rincón. El sentimiento predominante es de reto y optimismo. Pienso en las soluciones, los refuerzos estructurales, la sustitución del techo y la redistribución del peso para evitar futuros daños.
Por tanto, la recomendación inicial de mi amiga es comenzar por asegurar lo básico: un análisis técnico estructural detallado, para luego abordar la solución de los problemas más críticos como el techo y la humedad. Solo así podremos ir creando la tienda que imaginamos, en un espacio que refleje no solo funcionalidad, sino también una historia de transformación.
