Today I want to greet with much affection to our dear community of Arquirtectura+diseño in Hive. It has been a while since I wanted to return and resume my pleasure to show the beautiful things that are in my country, Venezuela not only has beautiful women and lush landscapes but also has shown that it has an architectural culture that is admired and recognized by many out there.
Hoy quiero saludar con mucho cariño a nuestra querida comunidad de Arquirtectura+diseño en Hive. Hace rato que tenía ganas de volver y retomar mi placer por mostrar las cosas hermosas que hay en mi país, Venezuela no solo tiene mujeres hermosas y paisajes exuberantes sino también ha demostrado que tiene una cultura arquitectónica que es admirada y reconocida por muchos allá fuera.
In my many tours through the city of Caracas I had the joy of taking the time to visit one of the most beautiful, largest and best built churches of all.
Being here is a delight to behold, it is a delight for the soul and inner peace for your mind and heart.
En mis muchos recorridos por la ciudad de Caracas tuve la dicha de tomarme el tiempo de hacer una visita por una de las iglesias más hermosas, más grande y mejor edificada de todas.
Estar aquí es un deleite a la vista, es regocijo para el alma y paz interior para tu mente y corazón.
I have been a Catholic for as long as I can remember, my parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts and uncles, relatives taught me to love God, the Virgin and all her traditions and customs. That is why every time I can I go to the temple and I disengage even for a moment of the world or the mundane, better said!
Yo soy católica desde que tengo uso de razón, mis padres, abuelos, tíos, familiares me enseñaron amar a Dios, la Virgen y todas sus tradiciones y costumbres. Por eso cada vez que puedo asisto al templo y me desentiendo aunque sea por un instante del mundo o lo mundano ¡mejor dicho!
Today I want to show you a temple built in 1958, which is called Iglesia de la Chiquinquirá in homage to the virgin that bears his name. It is located at the end of Andres Bello Avenue in Caracas and connects with Las Palmas Avenue in the urbanization of La Florida.
Hoy les quiero mostrar un templo construido en 1958, que tiene por nombre Iglesia de la Chiquinquirá en homenaje a la virgen que lleva su nombre. Está ubicada al final de la avenida Andrés Bello de Caracas y conecta con la avenida Las Palmas de la urbanización La Florida.
I consider that it is a recently built church and it is still not clear who was its designer, some attribute it to Mr. Manuel Mujica Millán and others say that the engineer Edgar Pardo Stolk built it. (Wikipedia)

This church is said to be the largest in Caracas and since I don't know of any other church this big I could say that it is the largest in Venezuela since it is designed to hold more than 1000 people, draw your conclusions!
Esta iglesia está señalada de ser la más grande de Caracas y como no conozco ninguna otra así de grande podría decir que es la más grande de Venezuela ya que está diseñada para albergar a más de 1000 personas ¡saquen sus conclusiones!
From the parking lot you can see the majestic entrance with columns at the front in the best Neo-Romanesque style.
On the left side was built an imposing bell tower that is said to be more than 50 meters high.
Desde que llegas por el estacionamiento puedes ver la majestuosa entrada con Columnas en la parte frontal al mejor estilo Neo-Romántico.
Del lado izquierdo fue construido un imponente campanario que dicen que mide más de 50 metros de altura.
The most famous women of Caracas have entered through these stairs to get married and have their pictures taken worthy of royalty.
I really like the color of the bricks, I don't know if it is a special stone or if they were made especially for this construction but they give it a special touch. And I love everything of this type, it is very similar to the concrete style that I have talked about in other opportunities.
Por estas escaleras han hecho entrada las mujeres más famosas de Caracas para casarse y se hacen una toma fotográfica digna de la realeza.
Me gusta mucho el color del ladrillo, no sé si es alguna piedra especial o fueron elaborados especialmente para esta construcción pero le dan un toque especial. Y es que a mí me encanta todo lo que sea de este tipo, se parece mucho al estilo hormigón del que en otras oportunidades he hablado.
The church is guarded by the Capuchin brothers and the truth is very well cared for.
La iglesia es custodiada por los hermanos capuchinos y la verdad está muy bien cuidada.
At the entrance there is a monument dedicated to St. Francis of Assisi. The doors are made of wood and the sides are carved with angels.
Upon entering you feel overwhelmed with so much beauty, really whoever was its designer was inspired by the love of God because everything is beautiful.
Es la entrada podemos encontrar un monumento dedicado a San Francisco de Asís. Las puertas están hechas de madera y en los costados están esculpidas con ángeles.
Al entrar te sientes abrumado con tanta belleza, de verdad sea quien haya sido su diseñador se inspiró en el amor a Dios porque todo es hermoso.
I liked the ceiling, the stained glass windows, the main altar, the monstrance of the consecrated host, the confessionals, everything blends perfectly with the same stone of the exterior and the same wood of the entrance.
El techo, los vitrales, el altar mayor, la custodia de la hostia consagrada, los confesionarios, todo combina a la perfección con la misma piedra del exterior y la misma madera de la entrada.
I really liked the shape of the ceiling, I don't know whether to call it hollow or concave, but when you listen to the mass you can feel a perfect echo; is that how it feels when you are in the Vatican?
I am sure that every penny given by the parishioners is well managed.
That day was the celebration of St. Anthony of Padua and the church is decorated with beautiful flowers in homage to this saint.
Me gustó mucho la forma del techo, no sé si llamarlo hueco o cóncavo, pero al escuchar la misa puedes sentir un eco perfecto; ¿Sera que así se siente cuando estas en el Vaticano?
Estoy segura que cada centavo que dan los feligreses son bien administrados.
Ese día era la celebración de San Antonio de Padua y la iglesia está decorada con hermosas flores en homenaje a este santo.
From the inside I can tell you that although there are many people you can only feel the silence and that gives me peace. It is not very illuminated, I went in the morning hours and although the weather was not the best of the day through the stained glass windows a light came in that made the place more welcoming.
De la parte interna te puedo decir que aunque haya mucha gente solo se siente el silencio y eso me produce paz. No es muy iluminada, yo fui en horas de la mañana y aunque el clima no era el mejor del día por los vitrales de colores entraba una luz que hacia el lugar más acogedor.
On the upper walls or second floor there are some paintings worthy of admiration. It is said that this is where some niches are located and where the ashes of the faithful and closest collaborators of the church rest.
En las paredes superiores o del segundo piso hay unas pinturas dignas de admiración. Dicen que hacia ese lugar es donde se encuentran unos nichos y es donde reposan las cenizas de los fieles y colaboradores más allegados de la iglesia.
I liked very much the pulpit, which is the place where the priest preaches the word, it is made of the same material as the walls and looks like a solid rock, where the word of God stands and never breaks.
Me gustó mucho el pulpito, que es el sitio donde el sacerdote predica la palabra, está hecho del mismo material de las paredes y hace ver como una roca sólida, donde la palabra de Dios se mantiene y nunca se rompe.
This was my visit to the Church of La Chiquinquira in Florida, I am truly grateful to God and to my son for having the patience to wait for me while I took the pictures. I would like to resume my walk through emblematic buildings of my country to show them to you. See you soon, take care, bye bye.
Pues bien amigos, esta fue mi visita a la Iglesia de La Chiquinquirá en la Florida, de verdad agradecida con Dios y con mi hijo por tener la paciencia de esperarme mientras hacia las fotos.
