Date Night!

The end of the summer holidays

While we knew the end of the summer holidays was nearing, I almost forgot that we could ask our daughter's tutor to babysit. We had not seen her in weeks because she went on a holiday to her home country and after that, school faded to the background once the English summer school month was over. Then I realized, we might as well take advantage of the fact that it's great weather and we can actually ask someone to take care of the little one and go out for one night.

We weren't planning on partying till late at night but just a nice dinner somewhere together, have a good chat and laugh and then head out somewhere for a drink and hopefully dance. We were really looking forward to that once we decided to ask the babysitter because our daughter was slowly getting fed up from being at home as well. Thankfully for us, it was no problem and the next day we had our Friday night to ourselves. Great!

Beach barbecue

As we attended a beach barbecue not too long ago, I decided to check out if they had another barbecue that weekend and we were in luck, they had! So it was easy to decide we'd reserve a table there because it was so nice to sit there in the sand, barefoot with some good music and the smoke of a barbecue making us hungry. I hoped that we could head for some cocktails afterwards.

Change of plans

We welcomed the babysitter and told her she didn't have to put her to bed really early so she could at least be up a bit longer. We asked her if she had to be back before a certain time, which wasn't the case so I told her we'd probably not be back deep in the night but it could be late. Just in case, something unexpected would happen making us end up at a great party or so, lol. I remember these unexpected moments are usually the greatest memories.

In the end we had two tapas at the beach and nice long chats and laughs before we decided this was not really the best filling before heading out for drinks, we only liked one out of two tapas so we paid and headed to another place to have another tapa. Usually, things are fast there but this time (Friday night) it was packed and it took 45 minutes for them to serve our simple snacks. By that time it was already close to 10.30 or 11 PM so we then jumped back in the car to park in the harbour instead.

Frozen Yoghurt

I craved a frozen yoghurt with strawberry and kiwi so we bought one and then walked back to the harbour to see where there was music. It was super crowded but to our surprise not that much music, at least not what I expected. Thankfully, we walked far enough to discover one place which seemed promising.

Almost full moon

Can you see the moon in the back? It was close to full moon, I remember, and these people sat there on the beach, very romantic, right? We had a regular table as these seats were all taken when we arrived. There was nice music and the Pina Colada was ok too, just WAY too expensive to order a second one, haha.

I believe we had to pay 13 euros for a simple beer (draft) and a cocktail. And trust me when I say my own cocktails taste WAY better than this one, lol. But that's normal, I'm used to that. It's just nice to be out as a couple without the nagging child who was fed up being carried around by us in the evenings.

I was hoping to catch the full moon a few days later to sit there on that same spot but sadly it was clouded and no moon to be found when it was time, just my luck, lol. But this place will be there another month so I will just come back for it another time. We never had a babysit in Budapest, so you can imagine now that we have someone we trust and is good with our daughter, we are very happy to be able to get out sometimes. Now that this evening ritual went smooth without any issues, I hope next time we can be out a bit later to go dancing somewhere, haha. I need to do some healing fir though, but maybe in a few months.

Let's hope the next date night will be soon!
