Starting a workday with your energy levels at their peak is something your body and mind truly appreciate, and that’s exactly how I felt as this new week began. There are days when you simply wake up with a different vibe, with that feeling that everything will flow in the best possible way, and this Monday was exactly like that for me. That’s why I sincerely hope that you, too, have an excellent, productive day filled with good experiences that accompany you throughout the day.
My week started off quite busy, and I want to share with you how my first workday went. From early on, the weather was particularly strange; an intense heat that gave no respite, but accompanied by moments when the sky clouded over as if it wanted to cool the air, only to clear up again and let the sun shine with all its might. The only constant was the heat, that typical heat of this island that can be exhausting at times, but which is also part of our daily routine. Even so, we had to head out to do our work at the Parque Costa Azul Shopping Center.
The trip there was peaceful, chatting as usual and enjoying the urban and natural landscapes the island offers us. Despite the weather, the view always has something to offer: a tree, a mountain peeking out between buildings, or simply the daily bustle of the city, which, in its own way, also has its charm.
Comenzar un día de trabajo con todas las energías al máximo es algo que el cuerpo y la mente agradecen profundamente, y así me sentí al iniciar esta semana que apenas comienza. Hay días en los que uno simplemente despierta con una vibra distinta, con esa sensación de que todo fluirá de la mejor manera posible, y este lunes fue exactamente así para mí. Por eso deseo de corazón que también ustedes tengan un día excelente, productivo y lleno de buenas experiencias que los acompañen durante toda la jornada.
Mi semana comenzó bastante activa, y quiero compartirles cómo transcurrió mi primer día laboral. Desde temprano el clima estaba particularmente extraño; un calor intenso que no daba tregua, pero acompañado de momentos en los que el cielo se nublaba como si quisiera refrescar el ambiente, para luego volver a abrirse y dejar que el sol brillara con toda su fuerza. Lo único constante era el calor, ese calor típico de esta isla que a veces agota, pero que también forma parte de nuestra rutina diaria. Aun así, teníamos que salir a cumplir con nuestro trabajo en el Centro Comercial Parque Costa Azul.
El trayecto hacia allá fue tranquilo, conversando como siempre y disfrutando de los paisajes urbanos y naturales que nos regala la isla. A pesar del clima, la vista siempre tiene algo que ofrecer; un árbol, una montaña que se asoma entre edificios, o simplemente el movimiento cotidiano de la ciudad que, de alguna manera, también tiene su encanto.
When we arrived at Parque Costa Azul to carry out our work routine, we had to wait a little longer than usual because they had a rather long morning session that Monday. We used that time to observe the activity around us, catch our breath, and mentally prepare to get started. When we were finally able to go in, we carried out our routine calmly and precisely. After checking all the readings and confirming that everything was in order, we left, satisfied that we had completed the first task of the day.
Al llegar a Parque Costa Azul para realizar nuestra rutina de trabajo, nos tocó esperar un poco más de lo habitual porque ese lunes tenían un matutino bastante extenso. Aprovechamos ese tiempo para observar el movimiento del lugar, respirar un poco y prepararnos mentalmente para comenzar. Cuando finalmente pudimos entrar, realizamos nuestra rutina con calma y precisión. Después de chequear todos los valores y confirmar que todo estaba en orden, nos retiramos satisfechos por haber cumplido con la primera tarea del día.
Since it was already past lunchtime and our stomachs were starting to remind us that they needed attention, we decided to grab a snack at the Sigo Market café, located inside the same shopping center. They have one of the most delicious chicken pastries I’ve ever tasted there, although they’re almost always hard to find because they make only a few and they sell out quickly. We were lucky that day; we managed to get the last ones left and washed them down with an ice-cold malt, a simple but perfect combination to recharge our batteries.
Como ya era pasada la hora del almuerzo y el estómago comenzaba a recordarnos que necesitaba atención, decidimos merendar en la cafetería del mercado Sigo, dentro del mismo centro comercial. Allí tienen uno de los hojaldres de pollo más deliciosos que he probado, aunque casi siempre es difícil encontrarlos porque hacen pocos y se agotan rápido. Ese día tuvimos suerte; alcanzamos los últimos que quedaban y los acompañamos con una malta bien fría, una combinación sencilla pero perfecta para recargar energías.
As I left the bakery, I paused for a moment in front of the fountain located just outside the market. Although I’ve walked past that spot countless times, I’d never really stopped to look at it. That day, perhaps because of the mood I was in as I started the week, I allowed myself to take a closer look. It has a very original design, with eye-catching details that spark curiosity. I found myself wondering who the creator of such a unique piece might be; I definitely have to find out.
Al salir de la panadería, me detuve un momento frente a la fuente hídrica que está en las afueras del mercado. After enjoying that brief moment of pause and appreciation, we headed home with the satisfying feeling of a job well done. That’s how our week began—filled with little moments that turn an ordinary day into something worth sharing.
