When Silence turned to a Happy Blast in the gallery

Greetings to the community members of Daily Blog. My sunday activity was quite interesting. An unexpected visit to a nearby district, where I was supposed to meet my son and his friends, made my day.

The entry tickets to happiness

We had a gathering, where my son and friends turned from another distrct. A short reunion. They came all the way from their hostel, a four hour journey in their two wheeler, with a purpose. I carried some food items for them, to take to the hostel, which would last, maybe, for a week.

The main intention of their visit was to watch the football match, scheduled to be held during that evening, between two states of our country. One being our own state, Kerala while the other one being Goa. The official name given for the two states was Kerala Blasters, from Kerala state and F.C. Goa, from Goa state.

The match was to be held at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Cochin, One of the famous stadium where most of National and International matches are held most frequently. The duration of the so called football match was 90 minutes, as per time schedule, from 7.30 p.m to 9.30 p.m, inclusive of regular breaks.

As it was the first visit to the stadiun to watch the match liven, their excitement was at the peak, as they were going to watch the players playing live in the grund. As the ticket rates were high, they opted for the back row in the gallery, where the cost of ticket was least to Rs.250 /- head.

Being students of law, packed with lot of stress, apart from Interships, Assignments, Court visits and Mock courts etc....all these apart from their regular classes; they preferred a short break from this so called tight schedule. This upcoming match was a boon and Sunday being a holiday was an added advantage for them to enjoy the match at peace.

This is how, the fun of watching a match, was described by my son. First half of the match had no voice raised in the stadium, as all were immersed in a question mark, when the opposite team hit 2 goals. The movements were less, no hurrays, no claaps, no moving from the chair, each face was drained in sadness and tension.

The match was reaching a tension point in the first half, when the scoreboard showed Goa-2 and Kerala-0. Their was pin drop silence in the stadium. But the scenario changed, in the second half when Kerala bagged with 4 goal.

Then, ultimately, the second half started. The players were back to position after a short break. With hands in their chins, the eagerness of the spectators grew when the ball was reaching the goal point. Hurrah! here goes the first goal, then the second, the third and finally the fourth. They won.
.
The whole stadium rose from silence to a roar of applause, giving a blast, when the scoreboard displayed Goa - 2 and Kerala- 4. Oh! Finally they won.

It was like a dream come true for my son and his friends, when they felt their long travel and gallery tickets were worth their enjoyment for that day.

With overwhelming happiness, they had a story to tell on their return to hostel.
The photos captured therein are my own, unless otherwise stated. Thankyou for your visit.
