Greetings, Hive community! Today I want to share this experience as a photography instructor at the "Menca de Leoni 1" School Group. Here I serve students from 4th to 6th grade in the morning and afternoon shifts.
¡Saludos, comunidad de Hive! Hoy quiero compartir esta experiencia como instructor de fotografía en el Grupo Escolar “Menca de Leoni 1”. Aquí atiendo a estudiando de 4.º a 6.º grado en el turno de la mañana y en la tarde.
This workshop is based on teaching the basic concepts and techniques to make a good photograph. In today's class I taught the general shot, full shot, American shot, close-up, medium shot and detail shot. We also practiced the angles, such as zenithal, frontal, dive and counter dive. The students made a representation of the planes and angles, one did it in drawing and others with photos.
Este taller se basa en enseñar los conceptos y técnicas básicas para poder realizar una buena fotografía. En la clase de hoy les enseñé el plano general, plano entero, plano americano, primer plano, plano medio y plano detalle. También practicamos los ángulos, como el cenital, frontal, picado y contra picado. Los estudiantes realizaron una representación de los planos y ángulos, uno lo hicieron en dibujo y otros con fotos.
I took the opportunity to show the students a 35 mm Focus free camera and explain a little bit about the process of taking a picture and developing with analog cameras. They were excited because they had never seen one like it before and even more so in this day and age when cameras are digital and you can take a picture with any cell phone, they had the opportunity to each grab the camera and take a picture with the analog camera. They got to know the roll of film that the cameras used before and they were very happy to live that experience of having an analog camera that very few young people have today.
Aproveche en mostrar a los estudiantes una cámara de 35 mm Focus free y explicarle un poco del proceso al tomar una fotografía y del revelado con las cámaras análogas. Ellos estaban emocionados porque nunca habían visto una igual y más en estos tiempos que las cámara son digitales y que puedes tomar una foto con cualquier teléfono celular, tuvieron la oportunidad de que cada uno agarrara la cámara y tomara una foto con la cámara análoga. Conocieron el rollo de película que usaban las cámaras antes y estuvieron muy contento al vivir esa experiencia de tener una cámara análoga que hoy día muy pocos jóvenes tienen.
It is very gratifying for me to be able to transmit my knowledge to young people who are curious to learn new things, I am sure that with the passing of time they will begin to see the world in a different way through photography, even movies and animated series will begin to see them with photographic eyes, since many of the resources used in photography, such as planes and angles, are also used in films, novels, serien and cartoons.
Es muy gratificante para mí el poder transmitir mis conocimientos a jóvenes que tienes esa curiosidad por conocer cosas nuevas, estoy seguro de que con el pasar del tiempo ellos comenzarán a ver el mundo de otra manera a través de la fotografía, incluso, hasta las películas y series animadas las comenzaran a ver con ojos fotográficos, ya que mucho de los recursos que se usa en la fotografía, como son los planos y ángulos, se usan también en el cine, las novelas, serien y caricaturas.
Let's remember that they are like a sponge that absorbs everything that is around them, I always try to leave them a lesson that can help them, not only in the profession they choose, but in their life in general. Today they discovered the importance of telling a story through an image and I am confident that in the future they will be the ones to tell their story through a lens.
Recordemos que ellos son como una esponja que absorben todo lo que está a su alrededor, siempre trato de dejarle una enseñanza que le pueda ayudar, no solo en el oficio que decidan, sino en su vida en general. Hoy descubrieron la importancia de contar una historia a través de una imagen y tengo la confianza de que en un futuro ellos serán los que cuenten su historia a través de un lente.
At the beginning, the parents and representatives of the students had doubts if it was good or necessary for them to see photography classes, since it is the first time that workshops like this one are given in that school, but little by little they realized how important these classes are, especially for children of that age who are in the process of learning. Seeing the excitement of their children with each class fills them with joy to know that they are learning more, something that in the future they can take advantage of. Who knows? Maybe in a few years those children who are in a classroom today will be taking pictures of an important celebrity, such as a president, an actor, an artist or a singer and they will be able to proudly say "I took that picture".
Al principio, los padres, madres y representantes de los estudiantes tenían dudas si era bueno o necesario que ellos vieran clases de fotografía, ya que es primera vez que se dictan talleres como este en esa escuela, pero poco a poco ellos se dieron cuenta de lo importante que son estás clases de talleres y más para los niños de esa edad que están en pleno proceso de aprendizaje. Los representantes al ver la emoción de sus niños con cada clase lo llena de alegría al saber que están aprendiendo al más, algo que en un futuro pueden aprovechar. ¿Quién sabe? A lo mejor dentro de unos años esos niños que hoy están en un salón, estén tomándole fotos una celebridad importante, como un presidente, un actor, un artista o un cantante y puedan decir con orgullo “esa foto la hice yo”.
