My son watched a lot of aero plane videos on the internet. Then he asked my to get a used a card box from a local shop so he could make air plane fighter. We made the fighter jet about a month ago, but he was so eager to make other air plane again. Cut the story short, we began making the air plane with the card box paper.
First, creating the air plane body.
It was not not easy to create a curved shape like a real air plane body, so a block shape was fine. So, I just made a block from the paper.
We got a used card box from a local shop.
Cutting the card box to make a block.
After cutting the paper, my son was in charge of gluing the paper. He did it quite well that we had the block shape.
My son glued the card box paper to make block or the plane body.
The plane body was ready.
Next, you need to have a tail and wings for the plane. I let his imagination to guide him making the them. He took the ruler and a pen and began jotting down lines on card box paper. He made few triangle shapes, which were obviously the wings and the tails, then attaching them to the body with the glue.
He was making the air plane tail and wings
Attaching the wings into the body.
The wings and tail were set, but no head.
Finally, the air plane was about to be completed. It just needed a head. My son asked me to create the air plane head, because last time I made it for him. He said, he wanted to look like a rocket head. Well, all I thought was a cone shape.
I created a half circle (as the base of the cone) with the help a of a thread tied on the pen while my son held the other end of the thread. You must see the photo to see what I mean. Sorry about this, haha. Well, a picture worth a thousand words.
He asked me to made a cone shaped air plane head, so I made a cone from the card box.
The half of a circle shape as the base of making cone.
When we had the half circle shaped, we then formed the cone from the half circle. In the end, we put the cone into the air plane body and attached with the glue. And. that's it.
Yay, it's done. My son was so happy.
The air plane was ready, with the cone shaped head.
I was just wondering why my son like to make air plane with card box paper. Well, yes, he likes air plane, no question about that. Just of curiosity, I asked him, what does he want to be when he grows up. His reply was, "I want to be a math teacher."
