Just like any other story, this story is not going to start with the words "once upon a time" because this is a Live Race Event that is going to start in a few hours. Tony Entertainment Television and Mars Sports Satellite Channels are going to catch this Race Live!
An interesting incident has led to the occurrence of today's race.
It was a sunny day in the forest. During a breezy evening, some animals were chitchatting under the shade of a huge Banyan Tree. Gobbit Rabbit, Derry Deer, Soman Swan, Moflef Elephant, Mr. Raaf Giraffe & Mrs. Debra Zebra were the animals present there.
They were actually discussing some general topics. At that time, Turquoise Tortoise is going urgently to a nearby town. He was visibly disturbed. Waiting for such a golden opportunity, Gobbit Rabbit wanted to disturb him.
"Hi Turquoise Buddy, how's life?"
Turquoise kept on moving without responding to his question.
But, Gobbit made a frustrating comment.
"Wow Buddy, your speed is equal to that of light!" Saying so, he giggled.
Turquoise did not turn back, but pat came the reply. "Hey Loser, thanks for your compliment."
"How dare can you call me like that?" countered Gobbit
"It's a fact!", Turquoise roared.
Gobbit became speechless for some time. All those animals came near to him and comforted his mind with soothing words. But, it is not enough to bring back cheer to his mind.
After a day or two, Gobbit's friend Raj, a smart rat, visited his house. He thought Gobbit would be feeling much happy when he sees him, but when he saw him in sullen mood, Raj inquired him of the reason for the same. Gobbit opened his mind before him. On hearing it, Raj was enraged to the extent of attacking the Turquoise.
Gobbit said no, but Raj is not ready to take it lightly. In order to cool him down, Gobbit came out with one brilliant idea.
"Hey Raj, would you like to race with Turquoise?"
"Sure, sure, why not?" Raj replied instantaneously.
"But, why can't you?" Raj questioned him with surprise.
"Once a loser is always a loser and moreover I don't like to see his face, let alone participating in a race with him" replied the Gobbit with a disgusting voice.
They discussed this with their animal friends. They thought that the Turquoise must be taught a lesson.
"What is the date, time & venue of this race championship?" Turquoise asked with a grin.
"The venue is Forest Bypass Lane and the date and time are August 11, 2020, at sharp 10:00 am. Whoever reaches the Elephant Gate first will be declared the winner. said Mrs. Debra who brought the message.
"Agreed." Turquoise said.
Tony Entertainment Television and Mars World Sports reporters are waiting for the contestants as the time is already 50 minutes past nine. Both the contestants reached the Forest Bypass Lane at sharp 10 o'clock.
Mr. Raaf, the giraffe is the umpire. He blew a whistle signaling the start of the race. Within a moment, Raj is nowhere to be seen. As usual, the Turquoise is moving slowly and steadily. The rat is moving at a top pace and at the same time, he felt exhausted. He thought of taking rest for a while. Immediately, he remembered one important thing. His buddy also did the same mistake by sleeping in the middle of the race.
So, he made up his mind and giddy for a moment and at the very same moment, he did not see a stone present in the middle of the road. As a result of it, he was hit badly by that stone and was bleeding profusely.
After some time, the Turquoise reached that location. Without hesitation, he started walking to his house and returned back with a first aid kit. After applying antiseptic liquid, he tied a bandage around the injured area and took him on his back to his family doctor's hospital for further treatment.
All the animals are waiting at the Elephant Gate to see which of the contestants will come first. That humanitarian Turquoise has forgotten about everything, even the prestigious race championship. After some time, he remembered about the race and called the umpire Mrs. Debra and updated him with whatever happened to Raj.
His family Dr. Swankey, a monkey, told the Turquoise that Raj urgently needs blood and inquired about his blood group. He was really amazed to hear that his blood group matched that of Raj's. He readily accepted to donate blood to Raj and saved him from the jaws of death.
On hearing this, all the animals rushed to the Animallo Hospital where Raj was admitted. Gobbit also came along with them and was astounded when he came to know about the empathy of Turquoise. His eyes were moistened by the tears and he thanked Turquoise from the bottom of his heart. After some time, Raj regained his consciousness. His buddy Raj explained everything to Raj.
Raj told Gobbit to call Mr. Raaf and asked him to declare that Turquoise won the championship and he gave the reasons for his victory.
All the television channels broadcasted this live race event saying that "History has repeated itself!" as a caption flashing across the headlines.
Coming first itself is not enough to win a competition, but having empathy on others and helping them during the time of difficulty is a characteristic not everyone will possess.
So, Turquoise not only won the championship but everyone's hearts!
