Hello everyone, this is my entry to the splinterlands battle mage challenge for this week. I will be describing one of my battles with the given ruleset. I used my account @yahuzah which is my spl account for all battles.

Battle Ruleset

Ruleset IconDescription
image.pngUp close and personal : Only monsters with melee attack may be used in battle
image.pngEarthquake : Non flying monsters take 2 melee damage at the end of each round

These two rulesets meant that I could use only melee monsters in this battle who at the end of each round would take a melee damage of 2 only if they are non flying.

For this battle, I chose the Drake of Arnak summoner to allow me select dragon monsters and to also grant my monsters +1 shield.

Battle Tactics

In first position, I selected Djinn Chwala. With a high health of 9 and a shield of 5 coupled with the thorns ability, this was a good selection.

I selected Flying Squid in second position. With its reach ability, speed of 3 and melee attack of 2, it was a good choice for the second position.

In third position I selected Deeplurker who has the opportunity ability. With a speed of 3 and a melee attack of 2, it would attack my enemy's monsters with the lowest health.

In the fourth position, I selected Hardy Stonefish. It can only attack in the first position but I left it in the last position to take damage from opportunity or sneak monsters.
