Life is all about making decisions, from the moment we were conceived it was a decision from our parents and throughout our journey to adulthood, there are decisions we make as well only that our parents are the ones making them for us during that time. But as an adult, we have every right to make the decision ourselves and we are responsible for the outcome of our decisions.
Making decisions for yourself is a process of taking a choice out of making even though we can't be too sure of the outcome.
There are times we make wrong decisions and there are times we make good ones, so everyone must have had one or two experiences before.
Have I been in a tangled situation to make a decision? Yes. Some years back when I finished secondary school, I wanted to become a doctor and that was why I went to the science class without thinking of the outcome of my decision to join the science class. When I finished school, I told my mom about the decision I made to become a medical doctor.
She was happy that one of her children wanted to be saving lives, I wrote exams and then I passed but my mom couldn't afford to pay for my acceptance fee as a medical doctor, so the entry expired and I was sad about it. Later my mom sat me down and then said to me, "It is not all decisions that end up well, and that is why you have to think deeply before making any decisions". That day I realized that I decided so quickly because I was just a child, if I wasn't being childish I should have known better that with my sibling's school fees, my mom wouldn't be able to afford mine. And medical students pay more than every other course in school.
When I became an adult I realized that I made a very tough decision for myself, and then I also realized that sometimes we just have to make a simple one instead of making the decision that wouldn't end up well for me.
The time I was confused about making decisions was when I finally finished university, as a computer student I was supposed to work in an office right? But I don't like office jobs and ever since I lost on becoming a medical doctor, I find it hard to choose what to do in life.
Later I was able to come up with the idea of learning handwork, during the time I was learning hairdresser, it looked like a very tough decision that might not end well because the work is a very stressful one and in my boss's shop, I was the only graduate there so every other people there learning used to look at me as if I came there to play. I get it they were thinking how can a graduate stoop so low to learn a hairdresser work, but during that time, I didn't know what to do with my life so I just wanted to keep myself busy with something.
The decision to learn handwork later became a very good one for me because now I have a shop, I have my certificate and I am a boss of my own. In one word, the decision worked out for me in the end even though it was pretty hard to make, some decisions are hard but the outcome will make you proud, I am glad I took the step if not only God knows what I will be doing with my life by now.
My advice is that before making decisions, people should think deeply because some decisions look good but in the end, someone's life might change negatively. While some decisions look hard to make like mine but in the end, the outcome will change your life positively, and any decisions you make you must stand by it till the end.
