AFRICAN WEAR IS MY CHOICE

African and Western clothing styles differ in several ways, including fabrics, colors, designs, and cultural relevance. I would love to highlight the difference between Western dressing and African dressing and choose my choice of dressing.

MATERIAL AND FABRICS

I would love to start with the fabric used in making Western and African wear. Western clothing often required materials such as cotton, silk, linen, wool, denim, and synthetics. Because of their accessibility, adaptability, and simplicity of usage, these fabrics are frequently used. But In African clothing, people focused on using bright, African textiles such as batik, kente, and Ankara. These fabrics typically have intricate patterns, symbols, or prints that are confined to many African cultures.

CULTURAL SIGNIFICANCES

Secondly, let's talk about cultural significance, The clothing of many African communities is a reflection of their cultural heritage, background, and identity. African religion, customs, festivals, and status in society are all symbolized via traditional jewelry, clothing, and patterns. In my country Nigeria, we do recognize traditional rulers by their dress adding red or white beads to their wear, and all the religious worshippers through their dressing as well but Western fashion is influenced by various kinds of worldwide trends in fashion, it does not always have a particular cultural significance. It is flexible and susceptible to the desires of the person as well as international fashion trends.

FASHION SENSE

Thirdly, no one can beat the way Africans design their clothes
African-style clothing has moving comfortable styles. Starting from
The dashiki, kenbe, boubou, and kaftan, are samples of African clothes with larger shapes that emphasize comfort and movement. While Western clothes are typically fitted to the body, such as dresses, blazers, skirts, pants, and shirts.

The uniqueness and cultural diversity of African countries are reflected in African fashion. Individuals may showcase their ethnic identity and express themselves through their dress, I prefer African dress, it is comfy and very unique, now we can use our design fabrics to make Blazers, pants, skirts, and so on.
