Comunidad de Hive hoy quiero compartir con ustedes una experiencia que disfruto mucho, como es extraer la semilla del merey en casa. ¿Se preguntaran ustedes porque la disfruto? Si es un trabajo arduo y complicado sobre todo por la resina que bota. Bueno, en primer lugar porque lo hago con mi pareja y en segundo lugar porque me encanta consumirla por sus numerables beneficios para la salud. Ante de seguir este post quisiera comentarle que es muy probable que muchos de ustedes conozcan la manera común de cómo se hace este procedimiento, pero creo importante recordar que en el estado Sucre- Cumana cuidad donde vivo la extraen de la siguiente manera: colocan las semillas a tostar en una lámina grande la cual ponen sobre una porción de leña convertida en carbón y una vez tostada la semilla, la enfrían, quitan la concha y así obtienen la semilla. Debo confesar que no fue sino hasta hace un año que conocí otra manera particular de extraerla, gracias a mi pareja quien lo hace así desde hace mucho tiempo y es de destacar que una de sus estrategias para conquistarme fue esta maravillosa semilla, pues era de su conocimiento que siempre la compraba para mi consumo.

I must confess that it was not until a year ago that I knew another particular way of extracting it, thanks to my partner who has been doing it this way for a long time and it is noteworthy that one of his strategies to conquer me was this wonderful seed, because it was of his knowledge that he always bought it for my consumption.

Bueno sin más preámbulo procedo a explicarle el procedimiento que en mi hogar utilizamos para extraerla, tomando menos riesgo que utilizando la extracción común. Debido a que me encanta la semilla de Merey o como es conocida o llamada de diferentes maneras en otros países, tales como: anacardo, marañón, caujil o paujil entre otros; en casa se compra un saco que en nuestra tierra equivale a un tobo de semilla de merey para tenerlo y así poder acceder de una manera más rápida y usarla para consumo y muchas veces para contar con una merienda a la hora de recibir una visita. Entonces sacamos las semillas que vamos usar, tomamos una tabla de madera, un martillo, y un cuchillito pequeño que tenga punta, se coloca el cuchillo en la orilla que une a la semilla , se le da un pequeño golpe y ella se abre. Es importante usar guantes para evitar que el aceite (Resina) te queme las manos.

Luego se colocan las semillas extraídas en una tortera que será llevada al horno hasta que estén bien tostada en un tiempo estimado de 5 minutos o menos (dependerá del horno que utilice), se retira del horno una vez lista , se ponen para enfriar y luego se le quita una conchita rosada. Extraída la semilla se coloca en un recipiente con tapa, en mi caso le agrego un poquito de sal y están lista para comerlas. No quisiera terminar este post sin recomendarle el consumo de esta maravillosa semilla, por los maravillosos beneficios que tienen, sobre todo para la piel y el organismo.

Then place the extracted seeds in a pan that will be taken to the oven until they are well toasted in an estimated time of 5 minutes or less (depending on the oven you use), remove from the oven once ready, put them to cool and then remove a little pink shell. Once the seed is removed, place in a container with a lid, in my case I add a little bit of salt and they are ready to eat.
