As someone who has been playing RollerCoin for coming up on a year now I've seen more than many. I think it is that perspective that makes it so east to look at the dark days we are currently experiencing in RollerCoin and still feel extremely optimistic about the game as a whole. I've been wanting to revisit RollerCoin with the perspective in hopes it might be helpful to those who have recently discovered Play2Earn gaming and seasoned pros like my mates in The Crypto-Gaming Guild.
We've come a long way baby.
RollerCoin was one of the first group of cryptogames I discovered when I was just getting into the Play2Earn industry and , at first glance, it didn't really impress. The idea of a cryptocurrency mining simulation just sounded kind of boring but, as I had recently done with 4-5 other games, I dropped in about $40 with the goal of understanding the larger scene as a whole. There was really only one edge that RollerCoin had at all, it's app worked smoothly and, well ... existed.
The ability to play RollerCoin on my smartphone in those little in between moment in life is really what gave it staying power. That and the simple goals of the game: Get more power, get more coins.
RollerCoin lets you play games to unlock more power and a upgraded computer to make power last as long as possible. As mentioned this more power directly translates to more coins ever 10 minutes, 24/7. It's not had to understand how to advance in RollerCoin, simply get more and more mining power.
And for a long time this was where RollerCoin just kinda stopped, up until a few months ago when we go our first Season. Seasons brought this simple simulation game forward a lot and now there are more quests, trophies, and collections to complete than ever. This is good! RollerCoin growing is a positive, but with growth comes growing pains.
The second Season of this wonderful game recently started and it's absolute trash. The quests are very hard to complete, the event pass is more expensive, and the rewards are not as beneficial. To me this was not at all unexpected. If we are going to have Spring we are going to also have Fall. The developers of this game gave us an amazing Season 1, maybe too good, and Season 2 needed to be smaller. Plus, I mean, we got BNB now!
Honestly, it's badass we have seasons at all and, if my predictions hold, Season 3 should be much better than Season 2. Not quite as good as S1 but, as I've wrote about, thats not really what we want longterm.
Recently we got a big look into the future of RollerCoin in a communication from the Devs. You can find that here:
Essentially we are getting all kind of new features many of us have dreamed about over the coming months. Come Season 3 we should be seeing Drops in the game and be able to use those Drops to build new miners and a new MERGE system to improve game assets. This is going to be more gamification for all us RollerCoin players and, as far as I'm concerned , thats a good thing.
The Marketplace has been my most wanted feature since the unusable button popped up in game months ago. I've got another article coming about why this seemingly small change will make the RollerCoin ecosystem a very different place soon so please watch for that.
All and all, we know that Play2Earn, CryptoGaming, and RollerCoin are all not only alive but growing. I see a boom developing in this industry and dont even think we are going to have to wait to 2022 to see some massive releases. What an amazing time to be a gamer!
