Drums please.......

The "Drums please" is a famous phrase in the song "Summer time" by DJ Jazzy Jef and the Fresh Prince. In this post it does mean the drummer :). Just like the bass, drums are a important part of a band. Without a drummer there would be no beat, tempo or even band (if you asked me).

A iconic drummer with a Iconic song. Smooth Criminal by Michael Jackson. The accents he plays, they are just awesome.

Ginger Baker

Ginger Baker, one of the founders of Cream. Often titled as the best drummer in the world. Although I don't believe in any "best musician' anymore, he sure is a master of his instrument....

Kyle Castronovo

We have a saying in the Netherlands "The apple does not fall far from the tree" Freely translated that for instance Childeren take over the knowledge and behaviour of their parents...or something like that, lol. Kyle Castronovo is the son of Journey's drummer Deen Castronovo. His dad let him drum a song along with Journey during a gig. How awesome is that... Must be a proud dad. Deen, by the way, was a long time away of Journey cause of a drug addiction, but I read he joined them again a little while ago.. Great news for Journey, he is such a passionate drummer.

Phil Collins

Phil Collins, everyone knows "In the Air tonight", one of his most known songs with a typical drum-part... Of course it's a great song but Phill is a real gifted musician, as wel on drums as on vocals.

Dreamtheater Audition

This is not a individual video about a drummer. When Mike Portnoy left Dreamtheater they held a audition for a drummer. As you might know, the drums of Dreamtheater songs is just as magical as the rest of the musicians in the band so they asked some of the most technical drummers around to do a audition.... It's some real drum-drugs :)

Steve Jordan

Steve Jordan, my first experience with his drums was with the John Mayer trio. His timing and feel of the rythm is just mind-blowing.

Who is your favorite?

Have a great evening,

Peter
