Avril Lavigne!! history and hits PUNK- ROCK

Biography

Avril Lavigne was born in Napanee, a town in Ontario (Canada) on September 27, 1984 (she is 36 years old). Her childhood was marked by her interest in music. His dream was to devote himself fully to the world of singing. She participated in her church choirs, worked as a cheerleader at festivals and even performed country music in contests, until she was discovered by Antonio "LA" Red, Pink's producer, who got her a contract with Arista Records. At 16, she moved to live in Manhattan and began work on her first album.

Things did not go well for Avril Lavigne at first. Although she practically lived in the studio during this stay in New York, her efforts were not productive. She was even offered to hire lyricists to do some of the work for her, but she refused.

Considering that a change of scenery would be beneficial to her work, Avril Lavigne moved to Los Angeles, where her ingenuity soon began to create the songs that would make up her first album, "Let Go". The album was a real hit with critics and the public, although part of the success was due to producer and musician Clif Magnoss, who actively collaborated in Avril's work. At the time, Avril Lavigne was 17 years old. The album "Let Go" sold more than 14 million copies worldwide and was nominated for 8 Grammy Awards.

At the end of 2003, Avril Lavigne released a live album, "My World", which includes an unreleased version of Green Day's "Basket case". Also included is a version of "Knockin' on heavens door" by Bob Dylan.

Two years after her debut, Avril Lavigne releases her second studio album, entitled "Under my skin". For this work, Avril Lavigne had the collaboration of many well-known people in the music world, including Chantal Kreviazuk, Ben Moody (former guitarist of Evanescence), Butch Walker and Evan Taubenfeld. The songs Don't Tell Me, My Happy Ending, Nobody's Home, He Wasn't and Fall To Pieces were extracted from that album.

Avril Lavigne's third album is titled "The Best Damn Thing", and was released on April 17, 2007. The first single taken from the album was "Girlfriend". For this new work, Avril LAvigne has counted with the collaborations of Butch Walker, Deryck Whibley, Travis Barker, (drummer of Plus 44, ex blink-182) and Rob Cavallo. The album was produced by Dr. Luke and Avril Lavigne herself.
