Neuralink, The Symbiosis between Humans and Machines.

Symbiosis with machine was what Elon Musk emphasized on when he was talking about Neuralink, a brain machine interface on the 28th of august 2019. While he was talking, he made mention of being able to backup human memories in a machine and then be able to upload it back. This is what he calls the future of human and machine if we do not expect a negative effect from Machine singularity.

Artificial intelligence has become one of the worlds biggest technological achievements as well as the world greatest machine fear, the great theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking made it clear that if something is not done to AI, it would lead to human destructions, Elon musk has also warned about AI singularity.

I do not know if we are going to become cyborgs, but the truth remains that Neuralink will bring a change to a lot of human activities. The greatest fear for humans is not nuclear war as it is visible that the possibility of having a nuclear war is as little as 0.1% not matter the conflict, the possible destruction human can face is artificial intelligence. AI has not gotten to its full state and humans are already losing jobs to machines. Losing Jobs to machines is something that can be solved by the government if they implement the Universal Basic Income (UBI) where people get paid for living but the problem arises when machine begins to think faster than humans and calculate faster than humans. It is true that the human brain thinks faster than it can be imagined but one problem the brain has is bandwidth, the ability to transmit, very fast to other part of the brain or system.

Neuralink will be helping the brain transmit electric signals faster so it would be able to help people with neural diseases such as stroke, paralysis, and other neural diseases work again. Also, the Link as referred to by Elon Musk will be able to help humans communicate with other machines faster without the delay or slow response of the body.

Limitations to Neuralink

Currently, the link is as still big (the size of a coin), although the test on pigs shows that the link can be inserted and removed without no side effect but it is still too big (based on my thought) to stay in the human skull. Also, Elon Musk says that the link would be implanted automatedly which means it would require extra cost to insert. One other thing I am concerned about is corrosion, will the link not cause any health damage if it stays in the brain for long?
