For my Freestyle Collage No. 74, my theme is "Take Me Home". Do you ever wish that you could just flay away instantly somewhere to a peaceful time or place you remember as being comforting? Sometimes I remember childhood and certain aspects of it, like riding back to another state and visiting relatives who lived the simple life in the country compared to our hectic one in the city.
Looking out the window of the transit bus, thoughts of asking my parents to stay seemed urgent at the time. But once we arrived, within a few days of nagging insects and no indoor facilities, I was ready to return home. I did love going back and forth. Perhaps just the travel away from my everyday life in the city.

I'd like to share with you my version of going home.
In preparing my theme, I envisioned first an ethereal atmosphere when either an angel or fairy would take me home on her shoulders. Once I located the image, I instantly knew it would work for my vision.
Also, I had in mind a recent LMAC original contest image of a house. It looked dilapidated and actually resembled a old motel I would see along the highway in small towns that are now old and worn, but still standing. I'd have to transform the home. I feel it worked well, but I had difficulty removing the background within my design program. Didn't want to waste too much time, so I decided to use the entire photo in a frame as shown below in my procedures.
Since the original angel image was a beautiful color with detail and flowers and a lovely skyline, I decided not to clutter it too much with other images. However, I wanted to adorn the angel, so I chose a few free-sourced images to add a pop of color and a bird or two which I love to add to my collage scenes.
Below are the additional images I included to complete my scene:

Once my images were assembled, blending them was achieved in Canva, my design program. Below you can see the tool I use in my upgraded Annual Pro Membership Subscription.
To a blank, white canvas, I added the angel image.
I resized the angel to fit three-fourths of the canvas since I wanted all the colors to use as the background. However, I didn't want to stretch the image too large, so I duplicated the bottom portion. Now it resembled a reflection of the top part of the angel's body.
I added the various accessory images, such as the bird, hair pieces, eye, and my fractal, then resized and repositioned them in various areas on the canvas. Removed the water background for the standing gull. Placing the gull in the tree branch and blending it with transparency was interesting. What I truly love was inserting the alien flowers in the angel's hair.
Added the LMAC image for the house.
Deciding where to place the image was key. I finally decided to put it on the back of the angel and the elongated elephant. I used a frame to insert the house in so it would fit properly on the angel's back. This completed the project.
I share with you my completed freestyle collage theme:
Thanks for your visit. I appreciate it. I hope you like my freestyle collage theme.
