Strawberries or rather garden strawberries (also know as arbei, from the Dutch aardbei) are the most widely recognized strawberry variety in the world. Like other species in the genus Fragaria (strawberries), this fruit is in the Rosaceae family. In general, this fruit is not a fruit, but a pseudo fruit, meaning that the flesh does not come from the ovary of the plant (achenium) but from the bottom of the hypanthium which is in the form of a bowl where the ovary of the plant is located.
