Thirteen Throwback Thursday Photos Times Two - Mom and Aunt Mary

I'm back again, just like last Thursday, with more Throwback Thursday photos! This time I have Thirteen Times Two (fancy alliterative way of saying 26...lol) scans of old school photos from my Mom and Aunt Mary's side of the family.

As I said before (I'm being lazy since I'm a bit bleary-eyed after all the scanning & editing!)...

Over the years, I've made attempts off and on to scan & cleanup some of the bazillion old school photographs I have stored in a bankers boxes in our upstairs hall. Earlier today I realized it's been a while, so I thought I'd do another batch, and turn it into a Throwback Thursday post. I decided to go with the box labelled, "Mom and Aunt Mary" since they're both (like so many of us) staying at home and I figured they might enjoy a little trip down memory lane.

To narrow it down a bit further, I decided to pick thirteen (because that makes for a nice, alliterative title), and then separated the color photos out and went with the monochrome shots. I tried not to overthink it, and just grab mainly the first ones I grabbed. I say mainly because a couple were of people and places I didn't even recognize - that's what happens when you have four (maternal grandmother, my parents, mine, and my husband's) photo collections all living together. šŸ˜Š

I don't have much info on these other than the obvious (pictures of Mom and Aunt Mary...lol). The large majority of these were taken in Gloucester, Massachusetts with a couple that I believe are from a vacation somewhere in New Hampshire. I tried to clean these up a bit without making them look over-processed. I hope you enjoy!

Now for my Thirteen Throwback Thursday Photos Times Two of Mom and Aunt Mary Faye!

Thursday Photos Times Two
1. My Aunt Mary - Kodacolor date on the back says, "Week ending July 21 1956"

2. I will not attempt to explain this one...šŸ˜‚

3. Don't recognize the couple, but the date on the back says, December 1984 - somehow I expected this to be much older (like 50s).

4. On the back (and remember, Mom - you said I could post whatever...and I love you...šŸ˜Š ā¤ļø ) says, "Left, Mary's boyfriend, on right my boyfriend."

5. On the back is written, "Here's me, all squared away. This is the uniform we have to wear every day here on base when we go to school.
(Definitely Chief material, huh?)"
Not sure who he is though...

6. No idea of who this is or when.

7. However I do know this is the front window of the living room of the house on Chapel Street, and I'm fairly certain this is one of my older sisters, Laurie.

8. More unknown men in uniform.

10. Grampy Souza, in New Hampshire.

12. I'm fairly certain this is my mother, but I also think this could be Mary Faye as well... hmm...

13. Spring flowers in front of the Chapel Street house, 1965

14. April 1967 - another shot in the living room, and I know I should know who this is, but I can't pull it out of my brain. I'm thinking one of Nana Souza's nieces.... maybe...
Ā
Ā
15. May 1966 - The kitchen on Chapel Street after my christening - Aunt Mary is holding me, Grampy is in the back, but not sure who the other man on the left is.
Ā
Ā
16. Aunt Mary, most likely first communion.
Ā
Ā
17. Aunt Mary on the far left
Ā
Ā
18. Possibly one or two of Nana's sisters...?
Ā
Ā
19. Mom and the twins
Ā
Ā
20. Aunt Mary on the left, Mom, and some other girl on the far right, in New Hampshire.
Ā
Ā
21. Mom - the date on the back says, 5/30/41
Ā
Ā
22. The date says September 69, but I'm fairly certain this is from the Blizzard of 1968 (and it didn't get processed until then).
Ā
Ā
23. I believe this is the place (or one of the places) Nana & Grampy Souza would take Mom & Aunt Mary on vacation, in New Hampshire.
Ā
Ā
24. And pretty sure this is the cabin they stayed in, since I've seen it in multiple pictures now.
Ā
Ā
25. Definitely recognize Gloucester, but not sure who this is - date on the edge is June 1965
Ā
Ā
26. No info on this, other than my best guess is these are the famous Budweiser Clydesdale Horses on a visit to Gloucester. I remember going with Grampy at some point in the 70s to see them at... Burnham's Field...?
Ā
Ā

That's all for now, but hoping to be back with some more scans & a little bit about how I do this (since I ran out of time today) in the very near future. Hope you enjoyed these Thirteen Throwback Thursday Photos Times Two!
