My Giant Golden Pothos in a 40cm X 28cm pot

I was first introduced to this plant when it was sold by an online seller on social media. I liked its variegation and since I want some plants to ornament an empty space at home, I have it delivered. I was surprised how huge it was when it arrived! Its leaves measured about 14 inches, and about 3 feet in height, this plant will occupy a lot of space in the living room. Now I knew why its called Giant Golden Pothos😅. I immediately fell in love with it. It was love at first sight.❤️

See how big its leaves are!

Epipremnum Aureum is a trailing plant. In the wild, it grows in the trunk of tall trees. This is another challenge. It needs a good support as it grows bigger. Since I prefer to grow it indoors, I made a climbing pole made of plastic pipe and coconut husk rope or simply coco rope. It is available online, so mine arrived two weeks after purchase. The quarantine made deliveries quite slow 😔. For a 5 feet pole, I used about 70 meters of rope.

Since Golden pothos plant is so new to me, I read articles to know its care and watering need. I learned that Pothos are easy to care for and easy to propagate. But what stunned me are the many benefits it provides. Pothos are known to be air purifier, cleaning toxins around the room.

Amazed on this wonderful plant, I decided to buy another one. But this time, though a giant variety, is still in its juvenile form, and not a top cutting of the vine. Its leaves are not as big as the first, and I was surprised that its new furlings are small just like an ordinary pothos. Something new to learn, giant pothos must be propagated as top cuttings to produce giant leaves, otherwise, its new leaves will be small.

Aside from its beauty, this plant is very beneficial for the home. My love for my Giant Golden Pothos, lead me to collect other varieties... And now I have 8! More varieties to add to my collection soon. ❤️
