Newly Found Passion-My Introduction to Hive

Hi everyone! Good day!

I am relatively new here and to be honest, I have no idea what Hive was all about until @nikkabomb introduced me to this platform. Little did I know that it was also a Crypto currency which I found a bit interesting. I thought it was just a blogging site where you get to blog your experiences, post your photos, videos and what not. Recently, my interests to crypto was tapped when a friend of mine was exceptionally doing good if not better in the Crypto-verse. I think I was left behind tremendously because ironically speaking, I was the one who introduced my friend to the Crypto-world. I was not consistent and I did stop abruptly yet my friend continued with great passion and persistence thus making him successful. I rarely write blogs and not even tried commenting on any article in any Social media platform because I am afraid that I will be critiqued and bashed in a very harsh manner. I am afraid that my grammar will not be on point and my English is way behind than others. What I do is just like those posts which I think I can agree on and don’t do anything at all when it is against my opinion. I guess having found this platform will somehow enhance my skills in writing. Though I am not that confident but at least my inhibitions are long gone. Thanks to @nikkabomb who encourages me to write something and be not afraid to express myself be it considered mediocre by others.

Let me introduce myself first. I am Rodel Niog (just call me Dhel) and currently residing in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, Philippines. I am 46 and still single (why? just PM me if there's such thing in here, LOLS). I am living with my Mom and my Eldest Sister with her son who is now a 14 year old teenager. I consider myself quiet and simple because I think I am not into fashion (I wear simple clothes) and I don’t like a lot of dramas and fancy conversation. However, if you happen to know me personally and considered me as a friend, there will be no dull moments and you will not regret the day you have known me. I think that’s exaggeration LOLS.

This is my photo.

In my free time, especially when the Pandemic struck us so hard, I find myself sketching and drawing anime characters. Don't be misled, I just copy paste it in paint and zoom it a little bit to make it bigger and then trace it, hahaha. Though I find it really difficult tracing it directly on the monitor, I was able to draw those missing details after tracing. I envy those born artist with great hands and excellent drawing skills with their imagination or by just looking at the photo. The anime character was Itachi Uchiha from the Naruto series.

I also love to cook. When I reside in Laguna back in 1993, they have a dish called Lutong Tuyo which is one of my favorite dishes. The dish can be chicken or pork or both combined. I learned how to cook the dish but instead of Lutong Tuyo (meaning the sauce is greatly reduced) I am cooking it with a lot of sauce. I don't like it dry because the sauce alone is enough to be your viand. For the recipe and ingredients, again PM me lols. I hope you can cook it and taste it too.

One of the things I do during Pandemic is to collect plants. I ordered it on Shoppee and they are family of Prayer Plants. Calathea plants are complicated plants and difficult to maintain. I have Makoyana or the Peacock Plant. What I like about this plant is the printed details of a peacock-like leaves and purely red on the underside. You have to water it using distilled or to make it cheaper, you can use tap water but use it after 24 hours to allow some chemicals and minerals to evaporate first.

The other one is Ctenanthe Burle-Marxii or other known as the fishbone prayer plant. Its common name derives from the alternating pattern of stripes on its oval, pale green leaves. However, the underside is not red.

One of my pets is a feline. Her name is Uge. I also have dogs. Their names are Kit-Kit (short haired pooch) and Kobe (I named him after Kobe Bryant because he was born when Kobe Bryant died in the helicopter crash. (sorry no photos included)

I was a former Call Center Agent. I started in a local call center hub here in Laguna and from there I gained a lot of experiences in handling customer. I applied in Sykes Philippines and was hired. It was really a challenging job catering American customers but I was able to pull it off and somehow enhance my English Communication skills. From Customer Service to Technical Support from Americans to Australian customers, well I had my fair share of different types of customers.

Before I end this article, I have to share the darkest moments of my life. In my almost a decade of being a Call Center Agent and mostly on graveyard shift, coupled with unhealthy lifestyle and vices, my health deteriorated due to Hypertension. In October 2016, I was rushed to a nearby Hospital because on my way to work, inside a van, I was having difficulty breathing and end up in an ICU. Thank God I am alive. As you can see, all thumbs up because I was given another chance to live another day. Life is short and fleeting. Enjoy life while we still can and let God be the center of our lives. That's all folks. See you when I see you. Be safe. Too-da-loo.
