The time is now

Today marks the beginning of a new journey in my life and I am having mixed feelings as I embark on this amazing journey to success, acquiring knowledge, and building good relationships with people from different parts of the world. It is a mixed feeling for me because firstly, I am excited to be here and secondly, I wish I joined when I was first invited to the platform a year ago.

Hive was first introduced to me by @princess-dara but I was pregnant then, it was my first baby, and staying on my phone wasn't something I enjoyed doing during that period. Mood swing wasn't far from me then and I had troubles that didn't make me join the platform. It was so bad that I had to quit my job during the pregnancy, I couldn't cope with a lot of things I was doing before I got pregnant.

I didn't remember the platform until I complained about my idleness to her she called to say hello a few days ago and she reminded me of Hive. She took her time to explain how the platform can help me as a nursing mother and seeing my sister's growth on the platform really made me wish I made an effort to join back then but honestly, there was nothing I could do.

I am not new to writing, I was on Uptrennd and noise.cash before, and I think I got the basics of what it means to write quality content even though I haven't reached my best in writing. Embarking on the Hive journey should and will help me discover ways to improve my writing skills.

My names are Oreofe , I am a Nigerian. I hail from Ogun state but I spent the best part of my life in Lagos. I am from a family of 13, my mom gave birth to 11 children but two of the children plus my dad are deceased so we are currently 10 and I pray we dont lose anyone of us again.

Life started for me in ogun state, I was born there. I had my primary and secondary education there before moving to Lagos in search of a better life.

My life is an inspiring story right from childhood and I usually educate people who care to listen to my story. I am someone who naturally experiences delays in life but I have always kept my head high while I waited for a breakthrough.

According to the story told by my mom, I had a delay in talking and I spoke for the first time at the age of three, it happened at a time everyone gave up on me.

I lost my dad at a tender age and I took my survival as my responsibility just like my other siblings. I moved to Lagos after secondary school, I started hustling and sent myself to the university where I studied business administration at the Lagos State university school of pertime studies. I was working and schooling, it wasn't easy but I had dreams and chased after them with everything I had.

Getting a job after graduation was difficult, most of the connection I got required a bed interview, and that wasn't an option for me. I settled for a factory job where I rose to the position of a machine operator within a short time and I used my position to help lots of people, especially girls because they find it hard to get jobs unless they are willing to date the people in charge of the job.

I helped people and brought my younger ones to Lagos. I got them a job at my place and accomodated them as well. We planned the future together and I helped them to secure a future for themselves. I left the job for a telecommunication company but I didn't stay for long because I got another job as a secretary in a big security company here in Lagos.

At the point when I decided to settle down, there was delay in finding true love but didn't give on myself.

I finally got married and had my baby a few months after marriage because I got pregnant while courting. My life has been more beautiful with my husband and daughter coming into the picture. Every stage of my life taught me a lot and I will share them on Hive as time goes on.

I am looking forward to having a great time here and I believe Hive can make me useful for myself as a nursing mother. Learning is certain like I did on other platforms and improving my writing skills will also make me very happy.

I hope I haven't bored you with my introductory post, thanks for reading without missing a word.
