Hi, I'm new here!
Before I delve into introducing who I am, I'd like to specially thank @starstrings01 for helping me through registering here and @monioluwa, for being a strong support system so far.
So let's get started...
My name is Ifeoluwa Olaoluwapo. I am a penultimate year student of Botany department, studying in the prestigious Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta [FUNAAB].
You could probably read in between the lines and see how proud I am to tell you about where and what I'm studying.
WHY BOTANY?
Oh! I get that question a lot. Well, my initial love was Microbiology until the wheel of my education was steered towards another more definite direction—the study of the application of plants. My parents were really skeptical about the course, my dad would rather I do an agricultural course than do Botany. Eventually, they agreed on the basis of a condition that I would do well in my first year, then obtain a transfer form to the department of Microbiology.
Well, did I do well? Story for another day!
Voila! Here I am, in my semi-final year, loving up on Botany.
WHAT DO I DO ASIDES FROM STUDYING PLANTS?
I'm mostly a faith-based writer, a smartphone graphics designer and a pastry lover.
Did I just say a faith-based writer? Oh yes, I did. I think so far I've been into writing for more than 365 days. At the time I wanted to really put a commitment to it, I noticed that there were a lot of writers, I mean great ones at that. So I thought and learnt that, to make my voice distinct and heard, I have to carve out a niche for myself or probably choose the not so popular niche. So, that's where faith writing came in. Just as the name implies, it is simply writing about faith in God. Also, that's not all I write about, as I am very keen about self development and seeing people daily becoming the best version of themselves... But I like to be referred to as a faith writer.
The smartphone graphics designing came into play during lockdown. I was quite idle, roaming about the streets of social media, to and fro. Fortunately, I came across a tutorial class about making graphics with your android. I was surprised and thrilled at that instant, the rest they say is history.
So, navigating through being a student-botanist, a writer and a graphics designer has been so much fun! I look forward to becoming more, pursuing growth and learning consistency!
Have I mentioned that I love Jesus? A literal scream of YES, I LOVE HIM.
