June the 4th 2021, Bled, Slovenia. Friday afternoon. A hot and very humid day with the promise of an incoming summer storm. It was the day of the Bled Business Run where the teams of three runners from Slovenian companies try to run as fast as possible around Lake Bled and pass the baton to their teammates.

I hope you all enjoyed a fantastic weekend and got to rest and do something fun. We’ve been quite busy of late getting the garden looking a bit better now that we’ve had some decent rain. We still have level 4 water restrictions here so we’re literally saving every drop that we can. I figured I’d share some of the recycling we are doing in the garden, we really upped the bar this year when we moved here and it makes me quite proud to see how it is paying off.

We've had a busy weekend and a busy week to look forward to. It's been hot and sunny during the day and rained every evening so we have been able to spend less time tending to our plants and more time enjoying the first truly glorious few days of heat and sun. We headed out paddleboarding on Saturday over at Wrightsville Reservoir for a few hours and enjoyed bumbling around the lake, pausing to jump off the boards and into the cold water to cool down. We stopped at the far bank and sat for a spell to picnic and enjoy the peace and tranquility. After we ate we headed along to the shallow end past the state park beach to where we've seen Great Blue Heron and Bald Eagles in the past. There were none to be seen on Saturday but that's ok... There is plenty more summer fun to come!

This was an easy choice. Sometimes nature just gives you pure perfection and the combination of a cold front coming in at sunset just sets the tone for a beautiful outcome. I took these a few weeks ago on our road trip up to visit Grants aunt in Port Owen. It’s a rugged and beautiful part of the coastline.

"Mano po" is an act where the younger ones bow down their heads and grabbing the hand of older people to show respect to the elders. We commonly do this whenever we meet our Grandparents, parents, relatives, and families older than us. This has been practiced from generation to generation. It is still fresh in my mind how my grandmother always reminded me to do this good act because this represents who we are and our culture on showing respect towards other people. For example, our family decided to visit our relatives in the mountain areas. When we arrived at their house, this should be the first action we need to do because it can be a part of greeting them and welcoming us to their homes. I highly salute those parents who never let this tradition dies itself. Even if we are now in a modern way or a new generation, we are still practicing this. When I decided to stay in the province, I witnessed how children here were so respectful. Every time they see me, they will say "Mano po" to me. My height was not that tall enough and there are moments that the teenagers were taller than me and doing "mano po". It's kind of awkward, but the important here is highlighting how these young generations learn to respect and know how to value it.

This piece comes from the Neumeister collection, a compilation of 82 chorale preludes found in a manuscript copy produced by Johann Gottfried Neumeister (1757–1840). When the manuscript was rediscovered in the 80's of the last century, it turned out to contain 32 compositions by Johann Sebastian Bach that were previously unknown. But more importantly, in my opinion, it contained two dozen compositions by Johann Michael Bach, of whom were until then only 9 compositions known.

A quick bit of background: I've personally consumed more content than anyone I know. Thousands of movies. Tens of thousands of songs. Hundreds of thousands of books & articles. I've also created hundreds of posts & articles, created a book, been in the press, made animations, made digital art, performed songs, coded games and more. I say this not to brag, but because I want you to know where I’m coming from before we dig deeper into 'content quality.'

I love jams, and I always try to keep at least one jar in the fridge for eating at my afternoon breaks with some dessert or toast to accompany my tea. My favorites are the ones made of berries, like blueberries, blackberries, cranberries, I like all of those very much and besides, I think that is another fun way to include fruits in our diet because they are essential.

On Fridays I usually try to watch series until late to give me a chance to catch up, but this Friday it wasn't like that, as I was very tired and decided to sleep early.

I know that you are nervous. For almost two years you spent your professional life in the Yellow and felt that you did not receive the acknowledgement and support you were looking for. It happens and so I am glad that you moved on.
