🎃 HAPPY HALLOWEEN 👻
Every year for that last few years we have been decorating our house for Halloween. Depending on where you come from this is probably not a big thing, but for our little community in outback Australia it is a time for kids to have fun dressing up and going around the few houses that actually observe the event.
From myself taking the kids out trick or treating to get them out of the house and have fun for an hour, it has turned into a yearly event that we look forward to and spend a month organising. And that is not mentioning the lolly bags we do up. Last year we made up 500 lolly bags and ran out . This year we have made more up and we are still worried we will not have enough as we set up earlier then usual and word has been spreading that we are ready for Halloween.
Here are some photos of our display.
We still have a few last minute things to get together and tomorrow will be a busy day getting the last minute things done before the kids come out trick or treating. We spend a lot each year on this event but it is all worth it to see so many people having fun. Last year we had random people take the time to stop and thank us for doing it as not a lot of people do.
A friend asked me “what I get from doing it?”
“Nothing” I answered
“What! Why do you do it then?” She asked
“Because of all the joy it brings” I confessed.
She then told me that I was crazy. Maybe she is right, but if crazy brings this much joy to the world then I can live with that.
Thanks for reading and Happy Halloween.
