Peggy's Cove Village & Swissair Flight 111 Memorial Site: Walk #10 of 28 Day WalkWithMe Challenge

We Tried to Go Out to the Lighthouse But We Got Rock Blocked!

They have the entry way all closed off, which is a little hard to believe because Peggy's Cove Lighthouse and the surrounding rocks are a massive area, people can spread out very easily out there, there's km's and km's of open area. Oh well, we played in the ghost village instead.

Saw some things I've never noticed there before, like this cool wall:

After they got bored with 'parkour' at the Village we headed over to the Swissair Flight 111 Memorial site.

Swissair flight 111, flight of a passenger airliner that crashed on September 2, 1998, off the coast of Nova Scotia, Canada, killing all 229 on board. The subsequent investigation determined that faulty wires caused the plane’s flammable insulation to catch fire.

All in all it was a good outing. The wind was brisk and refreshing and cold enough that it made you want to move around a lot to keep warm :) It was great to get out of our little wooded, hilly cove community and onto the barren rocks facing the open waters.
