People complain when they get shot with rubber bullets but did they think that their actions will not have consequences? If you put yourself in harms way then you expect to be treated accordingly. I believe that this is the only way of dealing with unruly behavior so everyone knows where they stand. There are certain countries in the world where you know you just don't cause trouble. I just wish the other countries would pay attention as this is how it should be.

This guy was covering the road closure this afternoon and got hit by a rubber bullet. Police see the crowd and if you are the press you are part of that crowd. I have no sympathy for reporters as they have instigated most of the mess around the world right now favoring sides and not telling the entire story.

Looks similar to a paintball mark except this one breaks the skin. He should just count his blessings that it missed his eye. Not racist police, but just police in this instance unblocking the roads from striking taxis.

The Government agreed to pay the taxi industry some of their ransom but they are still not happy and want more.
This is a dangerous game by giving into an industry that will hold you to ransom. The taxi industry is tax exempt here as well so they have enough breaks financially already. This leads on to the next strikes that will happen as they will be similar after seeing the government caving in to their demands.

Another highway blocked in Durban today. Stopping others from working is violating peoples rights and the softly softly approach never works. They should seize every vehicle and confiscate it for the crusher. No warnings and the message will get out very quickly.
July the 7th we will see the trucking industry striking and they are the one industry that has basically been working throughout. This is all about greed and certain Unions trying to show their strength. This strike is all about the trucking industry fighting against the companies employing foreign drivers. Told you this is just starting and this could get ugly. Actually that is wrong as it well get ugly. This is aimed at targeting foreigners who are working and is racial against not race, but nationality. How can you discriminate like this as it is not the drivers fault he is Malawian or Mozambican.

A friend of mine lost 2 trucks on the highway last month and a few at his depot to arson attacks. His meeting didn't go very smoothly with his drivers as 14 of them ended up in hospital. I don't blame him for his harsh approach as he has now employed an agency to handle his recruitment of the drivers.

Stupidity as this is one way of keeping your job by burning the transport you drive. I know him well and he will not back down to their demands.
The only lucky thing right now is the Army is still helping police the lock down and they will be called upon at some point.
