The Waduk (reservoir) is one of the tourist destinations in Kota Lhokseumawe, Aceh (Indonesia). The place offers another panorama besides the sea which is the center of marine tourism in Lhokseumawe.

At the Waduk Lhokseumawe, visitors not only enjoy the sunrise and sunset, but mostly also to hangout and exercise.

Every morning and evening, many people jogging in Waduk Lhokseumawe. Its location close to the city and its large area provide a strategic place for jogging or cycling.

But, Waduk Lhokseumawe is not a comfortable place, actually. Motorbikes and cars that often pass by cause pollution. Not to mention that there are reckless motorcyclists, especially children, which are very dangerous to visitors. A neighbor of mine, was hit by a motorbike in the Waduk Lhokseumawe.

Another complaint that is often experienced by visitors is the smell of garbage which disturbs health and comfort. Regarding waste, the Kota Lhokseumawe Government does have a very bad score. They are not good at managing waste. Heaps of trash can be seen at various places.

This condition is exacerbated by the low awareness of residents in disposing of garbage. Because the government does not provide a proper disposal site, residents make garbage carelessly. Truly a primitive civilization that is not worthy of being in a city.

After jogging a lap that afternoon, I sat at a point drinking coco water. There are no plans to enjoy the sunset that afternoon. But it turned out that it was sunset that invited us.

The color of the sky when the sunlight starts to dim, is really beautiful. Gold stripes stretched across the horizon. The clouds were still visible for a moment before disappearing.

A friend then took a picture using a gadget camera.

If the Lhokseumawe Reservoir was free of trash, the sunset and sunrise there would be really beautiful.[]
