Fantastic weather today and a good opportunity for a walk along the river and a brief escape from the Hive.
But first, can we please raise a glass to the many landlords across the world who run a public house in which there are zero public, and the beer garden looks something like the above. On a warm May afternoon such as today, this place, which sits right on the bank of the River Trent, would be enjoying a solid days trading. Not today though, as the UK is still under lockdown and only essential businesses remain open.
The government is currently paying 80% of my wage and I'm basically on holiday. With the lack of businesses open, inability to see friends or my daughter, or get on a plane and fly away, it doesn't really feel like a vacation though.
And during the past three weeks it's been tough, especially on the cloudy/rainy/cold days, to get away from the screen and the goings on here. Which is why I desperately need days like this to walk around comfortably in just a T-shirt and soak up some of that essential vitamin D.
Should of invested in padlocks 10 years ago.
Not a cloud in the sky today and owning/living on a boat appeals, until it gets chilly again and craps it down for 3 months. Must be sweet though, mooring up wherever you please and enjoying a new view each day.
We now interrupt this blog for 5 average photos of a Swan.
Almost got the whole swan in this one...
Is that a STEEM token I see sinking?
Trent Bridge looks a bit of a state at present as maintenance staff are taking advantage of these quiet times to presumably ensure the bridge is in good shape. The other main road bridge into the city was found earlier this year to be rusting and had to be closed for a week or so. This made Nottingham, according to TomTom, the most congested city in the world for a few days.
The owner of this boat clearly doesn't care to much about presentation....
but at least has a sense of humour....
Plenty of room here for oneself and a four pack. Tomorrow looks even warmer, I'm tempted to book a spot.
Cheers
