MY FIRST OUT OF THE COUNTRY COMMISSIONED PAINTING.

Hello everyone,

Today I will be sharing with us my first out of the country painting commission. This work will be the first I will be transporting physically out of Nigeria and I’m super excited about it. The client reached out to me on Instagram after seeing one of my viral painting videos. He’s an African man based in Qatar and would like me to make him a painting. Initially, he wanted the painting to be of his mum but he realized lots of his siblings are getting painting for their mum so he had to change his mind. Still focused on me working for him, he decided to get the painting for himself.

The painting ended up to be quite challenging for me but it was worth it. It was a big painting and I got to understand tones and color theory the more. One thing about painting and art in general is that, the more you work and practice, the better your skills become. Despite the challenges I faced, it turned out nice and I love the work. When I show the client, he couldn't stop complementing me which makes me so happy. I only wish my canvas won’t have the strip as it does. I’m still contemplating vanishing it like that or just put it in a glass frame instead. I might go for the latter.

The medium I use for the painting is Oil on primed canvas. Took me 4days to complete the painting. I happen to be a very slow painter. Lol 😂. So guys, tell me what you think of this work.
