Have you ever wondered why fireflies have to die so soon? Or why some things in life are so fragile, yet leave such an everlasting impact on us? As I was drawing this scene of Setsuko from Grave of the Fireflies by Studio Ghibli, these thoughts lingered in my mind.

Setsuko, the little girl from the movie, was a symbol of innocence and vulnerability, a poignant representation of how fleeting and delicate life can be. Her character left a deep impact on me, and as I drew her holding an umbrella and closing her eyes, I was struck by the realization of how even the simplest things can hold so much meaning.

In the movie, Setsuko's death was heart-wrenching, a stark reminder of the fragility of life. As I drew this scene, I wanted to capture the same essence and convey the message that even in the darkest moments, there is always hope.

Thank you for taking the time to read my thoughts and for allowing me to share my artwork with you. I hope that this drawing of Setsuko serves as a tribute to her character and as a reminder to cherish the moments we have with our loved ones. Let us appreciate the beauty and fragility of life, and let the light of hope guide us through the darkest times.
