Splinterlands art contest #295 (Ice Pixie)

Splinterlands Community holds a weekly art contest on hive.blog and i love taking part in this Contest every week. Here is a little introduction about the contest. All participants have to either draw one of there characters from Splinterlandscards.com in their own art style or make something from inspiration by the Splinterlandscards characters. No plagirsm copy pasting the rules are simple as that.

This week for my entry im drawing Icy Pixie. so my drawing has been getting better since i started gesture drawing too. So the character is like a pixie with short pixie cut blonde hair and her skin is pale blue with the wings and the dress too and you can see her casting spells neat crystals and her eyes are glowing cyan .

So i kinda went with that description and started drawing the sketch first after the sketch was done .I imported this sketch in to a digital drawing app called medibang paint pro.

Now we trace the whole sketch and make a cleane linearr or it with each element on different layers. The brush I'm using is called pen sharp brush. so i start by tracing the dress, the wings, hair and expressionsall on different layers and then i traced the flame aand the crystals seperately too.

Now as i was done with my lineart i imported the color swatch pallete of the actual character and startef putting in the flat colors so i made a layer under the lineart layer and filled the dress with a navy blue and her hair a pale blue. I always use neutral colors for the flat color layers so here i was done filling in all the basic colors. Next step is shading and highlights.

so for the lighting parts i use laso tool to select the area and clip a layer on top of theh flat color layer and start using gradient tool to make the gradient in her clothes and her wings. i keep the darker color to the edge and the loghter soft color where ever the light hits here the source of light will be infront so thats how i new where to add the highlights.

Same way i used selection tool and colored the crystals i also did remder her metalic belt and neck piece . shaded her clothes. Lastly i added a purple gradient background to it.

lastly i added some halo to the crustals with a teal color and airbrush set the layer at add in layer blending moode after that i just colored the lineart and made the flame a bit glowy withthe same halo technique added more highlights and adjusted the background layer lowered the saturation . Did some final adjustments

and here is the final result.

that's all for today. Thank you for your precious time and support ❤
