Greetings community.
Something that I love to reflect in my drawings is a bit of nostalgia and although sometimes I would like to modify my style a bit, I always end up where I feel most comfortable, this time I present a portrait with quite dark lighting, an effect that I have liked a lot for a couple of months since it highlights a face in the dark and creates something different and striking, as well as giving it that nostalgic touch, I hope you like it..
This time I wanted a portrait quite close to the face, after making the sketch I began to paint, I used a palette of warm colors, i start using a base skin color and then adding many more tones throughout the face to give it shape, in a new layer I added even more shades where it would be outlining the entire shape of the face a little better.
Little by little I began to build the face but without giving it so much realism, I really wanted a slightly rustic texture, then I painted the hands and shoulders following the lighting of the face, for the hair I used a dark brown and with a lighter tone I made the reflections, paint the eyebrows and eyelashes and then begin to paint some tears of blood falling from the face.
I started to give more intensity to the blood and to apply a little red in some parts of the face, then I applied a layer with the blending mode multiply using a brown tone and lowering the opacity of the layer, thus creating this shadow over the whole drawing , for the light effect, i simply erase a little on this shadow layer giving the light a movement according to the curves of the face, finally apply a little more light in some parts including the ray of light to make it look more intense.
