Everyone must have traveled somewhere. The way people travel varies, both on foot and by means of transportation such as bicycles, motorbikes or cars or perhaps more modern means of transportation such as airplanes. Of course, what is used for traveling also varies depending on the means of transportation we use. Sooner or later to get to the destination is influenced by the speed of the rider and the distance that will be traveled.

In this post I want to share about learning basic mathematics to determine the travel time of a trip. This calculation determines the certainty of the distance traveled and the average speed we drive.

Example. Mr. Amir will go to the city of Bandung to visit his sick family. The distance between Pak Amir's house and his family's house in Bandung is 180 km. Because Mr. Amir uses the toll road, Mr. Amin estimates that the average driving speed to the city of Bandung is 80 km per hour. If Mr. Amir leaves the house at 06.00. What time did Pak Adil arrive at his family's house in Bandung?

From the question above, Mr. Amir will not be in the city of Bandung, it is estimated that at 08.15 with the following calculations:
Travel time (t) = Distance traveled (s) divided by average speed (v) or t=s:v.
The distance that must be covered is 180 km. The average speed that a rider will use is 80 km per hour. Then the travel time is:
t = s : v
t = 180 : 80
t = 2.25 hours or 2 hours 15 minutes.
2.25 hours = 2 hours
0.25 hours=15 minutes (0.25x60).
Remember 1 hour is 60 minutes.

Thus Mr. Amir will arrive in the city of Bandung at 08.15, namely departure time (06.00) + travel time (02.15).

Thank you to all my friends who have stopped by my post, I hope this post is useful
