The bell rang signaling break time arrived. The children rushed out of the classroom enthusiastically. Understandably learning mathematics they have just finished studying. It seems that most of them are already bored with math lessons. This was proven when the recess bell rang they shouted, "it's fun....!" And immediately asked permission to me to rest. I also allow and invite the children to rest.

There are still a few minutes of rest time left. The rest of the time I used to communicate with several children who were gathered together while joking with each other. I tried to find direct answers from several children about mathematics. How do they view mathematics? What causes children to dislike mathematics and other questions that are closely related to mathematics subject matter.

After I conveyed a few questions, several children answered with various answers, so if I summarize there are 3 categories of student responses to mathematics, namely as follows:

  1. Think of mathematics as a subject that makes you dizzy, boring and lazy to follow. This opinion was conveyed by children who in their daily learning are classified as slow and a little lazy.

  2. Consider mathematics as a mediocre subject. This opinion was conveyed by several children who were classified as ignorant and often considered every subject easy.

  3. Consider mathematics a difficult but fun subject because it stimulates us to always think and find ways to solve it. This expression was conveyed by several children who in their daily lives are classified as intelligent, less intelligent but diligent and children who are not intelligent in the sense of being mediocre but diligent in asking questions when something is not understood in learning.

I received all the answers with pleasure and I made it my assignment to change the views of children who don't like mathematics into a fun subject for all students in my class.
