In life movement is one of the sure variables. One has to move from one location to the other. Just look at a baby who just came into existence, the next thing the baby tries to move from one place to the other. The baby starts crawling then stands and before you know the baby starts to walk, when the baby now walks he is so excited and decides to run. Movement we can say is the core of human existence.
In life everyone is making a movement but at different speed. Now there is this attitude I see and I begin to wonder how we as humans got to this point. When one rises he or she tends to look down at others. At some point he or she now becomes a barrier to others. While going up the ladder of life we should remember that life is slippery,being at the top today doesn't mean you would always be at the top. As you are at the top support others to also rise. When you are weak the will be the ones to support you.
Being at the top can be lonely and tasking. Everyone would be looking up to you and at some point you might not be able to withstand the pressure of being at the top. The top is filled with responsibilities and it can be difficult if you don't have any one to support you.
I heard a story of a man who rose to the pinnacle of his career and refused to raise others. He practically did everything and refused to show anyone how some of the work is been done. It was a pity that he died from stress and did not even live long to enjoy the money he was struggling for. If he had mentored someone at least the burden and workload could have been shared.
A man in my community had risen to the top of his career. After some time he lost his wife and two children. He was depressed and he was emotionally stressed. But to our greatest surprise the man had a lot of people around him. They showed him love and care. I was fortune to know one of the ladies who always brought groceries for the man. One day I asked her if she was related to the man but I was shocked when she said no. She told me that the position she is occupying today that the man helped her to get to that position. He practically took her under her wings and taught her everything she needed to know about her career. She informed me that all the people I saw coming to the man's house are not in any way related to him. They are all the people he raised while rising. And today they are the ones supporting him.
While rising in life also raise others, be deliberate about mentoring others. This will help to reduce alot of responsibilities on you. You will be happy anytime you see those you mentored doing well in life. As we are rising to the top let's raise others.
