It's another Leoglossary education session and I'll like you to pay attention to what we're about to discuss because it might be describing you or what you're doing to earn a living. Today's post will focus on gig economy as well as gig worker.

Have you ever engaged in a job that you're not a permanent staff, it means your a worker. Let's look at what gig economy (according to Leoglossary) is all about and how it originated.

What is Gig Economy?
Gig economy is one that depends heavily upon temporary or part-time positions. They are filled by independent contractors and freelancers. This is in lieu of permanent workers.

This has advanced with the progression of the digital arena. Concepts such as remote work are now entering the mainstream consciousness.

One uniqueness about a gig economy is that people are allowed to worker without being present or work on part time basis, which gives them enough time for themselves. Also, it gives them the opportunity to do more than one job and also raise more incomes.

Sadly, they only help this organizations growth and could be relieved off their duties at any time. They don't expect any retirement benefits because they're casual workers.

This form of economy became more predominant since the covid-19 pandemic when people were not allowed to associate closely with other and has come to stay because most firms and organizations sees it as an opportunity to avert some expenses that they spent on permanent staff. Another reason is that the gig workers are more productive as well as less expensive to maintain.

I'll leave us with this question, can activities on the hive blockchain be described as a gig economy?
