3 Popular Death Playstyles!

After covering 3 different playstyles for 4 different gods, the last 2 remaining are death and light.

Death decks are ones of the weirdest decks if I might say so and ones of the most difficult to perfect in my opinion next to deception decks.

Death decks are not widely seen nowadays because the most effective decks are somewhat expensive and the free to play version of them is not as effective in the current meta.

The only deck mostly see at this time is Zombie Death decks for being effective and not so expensive to play which we will mention later on!

So without further ado, let's start with the first playstyle!

First Playstyle

Death Sacrifice

The death sacrifice playstyle is somewhat strange for most players. And even for me it seems a bit strange and makes one wonder how is it effective.

This playstyle is all about sacrificing your creatures or cards in hand for either healing your god, or summoning even stronger creatures than the ones sacrificed.

With the constant healing and strong creatures summoned along with the destruction or sleep spells, you should slowly hold on to get to late game while slowly taking control and finishing of the game later on either with a strong creature that you summoned or that you because of a spell you used.

Just make sure not to let your opponent flood the board as much as possible.
This playstyle need some time to perfect because it is a bit different from usual decks!

Example Deck

Sacrifice deck.jpg

As we can see, a lot of sacrifice or wipe cards along with important afterlives to get strong creatures.

Important Cards:

Living Container: The roar and afterlife of this spell are so important for this type of decks because you have several creatures worth sacrificing and you need to get stronger ones on board.

Return to the cave: The mana locks provided by this card are so important to get ahead especially since you will be using a bunch of spells early game!

Siren of the grave: The sleep provided by this card is good to prevent some face damage.

Untold Greed: With having several cards that remove cards from your hand, and a lot of small spells, this card is important so you do not run out of cards.

Second Playstyle

Zombie Death

Now this one is the most used death playstyle at the moment especially for people who can not afford expensive decks!

Despite being effective, affordable to play, it is also so much fun!

This playstyle is all about keep on constantly flooding your board with zombies using the abilities of the Necroscepter and the Cursed Obelisks and while also using different creatures and spells to either destroy enemy creatures and buff your zombies!

With the constant zombies coming your opponent will not have a chance to keep up and you will eventually dominate the board!

Example Deck

Zombie Deck.jpg

This is one small example of a zombie decks with a lot of varieties possible for it!

Important Cards

Necroscepter: The left hand of any zombie decks. A zombie deck can never be called such without this card simply!

Cursed Obelisks Cursed Obelisks alone as well is not enough! This card is the right hand of any zombie deck together with the Necroscepter zombies will be flooding and buffed like crazy!

Decaying Rhino: An amazing, mana efficient strong creatures to help you dominate the board. You would not have to worry about his drawback effect because you have to always try to be frenzied for the Necroscepter or Cursed Obelisks effects.

Netherswarm Lord: In addition to being a fairly strong creature, the buff provided by the card for your zombies is so valuable and can turn any game around! Just make sure to pay attention to card placement. Always place this one on the right of the Cursed Obeslisks for all zombies to receive the buff!

Third Playstyle

Board Wipe Death

This playstyle has the highest win rate among all zombie decks for several reasons:

1- Not being used so much except in high ranks because it can not work without expensive old cards.

2- Being so effective because the deck is so cohesive and consist of a lot of expensive cards.

However, this playstyle is to be mastered completely to give results and can not reward any player who do not know all the ins and outs of it!

As the name suggests, this playstyle is all about consistently wiping the board with your spells or creatures, while avoiding taking damage as much as possible and than dominate the late game and finish it with your legendary late game monsters!

Example Deck

It is close to impossible to make a cheap and effective version of such deck and that is why it is not used a lot!

Important Cards

Canopic Hoarder and Siren of The Grave: The combo provided by those to of giving constant sleep to prevent damage and flooding the board to be wiped is very important!

Neferu's Khopesh: And then comes the next piece of the puzzle! This one will keep bringing back the constant sleep on board for even more protection and board flooding for the enemy!

Apocalypse Now: The turning point of event where the fun and domination starts! Clear the board and the late game is as good as yours!

Conclusion:

Death decks and playstyle are somewhat strange compared to other gods, but certainly they are so much fun I can assure you that.

Although I have not tried them myself except the zombie deck I can see that the different type of thinking during the game while watching others play it is somewhat fun!

So if you are a good investor in the game go ahead and try the board wipe and if you are not I will do my best to do a cheaper version of each one as much as possible. Although I doubt this will work for board wipe it is possible for other we will see about that!

Keep in mind that the decks provided are not tested decks and manually done directly on GUDecks and they are meant to be shown as an example to what a specific playstyle is about!

I will make sure to try as much of them as possible in the future and share any effective cheap ones I was able to come up with!

That was it for this post, hopefully you like it, if you do make sure to drop a follow and leave a comment what you think about death in general!

Mad love, Peace out <3
