Jajajaja... Mentalmente hice este ejercicio y me repetía este escrito para poder conseguir un atuendo acorde al reto de esta semana.
La palabra "Noche de gala" me dejó en blanco por unos cuantos días... Hasta que lo fui asimilando y perdí la cuenta de cuántas veces revise mi armario.
Este vestido negro me tentaba desde el inicio de esta temática Glam. Pero no era lo suficientemente atrevido para lo que mentalmente estaba buscando. Recordé una de mis película preferidas por los looks Glam que allí se destacan, "El Diablo Viste A La Moda", así que luego de buscar las escenas que quería... Pude ponerme manos a la obra.
Hahahaha... I mentally went through this exercise and kept repeating this writing to myself so I could come up with an outfit to match this week's challenge.
The word "Gala night" left me blank for a few days.... Until it sank in and I lost count of how many times I went through my closet.
This black dress had been tempting me since the beginning of this Glam theme. But it wasn't daring enough for what I was mentally looking for. I remembered one of my favorite movies because of the Glam looks featured in it, "The Devil Wears Fashion", so after looking up the scenes I wanted..... I was able to get down to work.
Por un par de días secuestré la habitación de mi hija, esta sería la locación para mis fotografías.
La escogí por el estilo antiguo y sofisticado de su juego de cuarto, pues cuenta con una peinadora de varios espejos y un diseño elegante. Justo lo que queria de fondo para mis fotografías.
Forré gran parte de las paredes del cuarto con cortinas unicolores pues quería mantener la composición de las imágenes sin mucha distracción de colores a través de los espejos.
Rescaté y decoré un florero viejo y abandonado que también me serviría de recurso visual.
For a couple of days I hijacked my daughter's room, this would be the location for my photographs.
I chose it because of the antique and sophisticated style of her room set, as it has a multi-mirrored comb-over and an elegant design. Just what I wanted as a backdrop for my photographs.
I lined most of the walls of the room with unicolor curtains because I wanted to keep the composition of the images without too much distraction of colors through the mirrors.
I rescued and decorated an old and abandoned vase that would also serve as a visual resource.
Una vez que estéticamente se veía pulcra la imagen que quería capturar pude dar paso a arreglarme yo para mí gran evento 😁.
Finalmente, luego de darle muchas vueltas, decidí usar mi vestido negro. Este vestido pese a ser sencillo es muy elegante, pues posee un corte de falda tipo lápiz y escote cuadrado que en lo personal, siento favorece mi figura.
Lo combinaría con accesorios planteados y perlados. Pese a que soy más amante del dorado, quería un aspecto diferente en esta oportunidad.
Estos accesorios son más antiguos que la edad de mi hija jejeje. Por ejemplo la gargantilla fue la que usé para mí matrimonio, durante muchos años sentí la tentación de desarmarla para crear un nuevo accesorio, ¡Gracias a Dios nunca lo hice!🤭
En cuanto a los zarcillos, recuerdo haberlos comprado para un matrimonio al que asistí en mi primer año de casada.
Me alegra haber echo inversiones en el pasado que hoy me salvaron el bolsillo. 😁
Once the image I wanted to capture looked aesthetically neat, I could move on to getting ready for my big event 😁.
Finally, after giving it a lot of thought, I decided to wear my black dress. This dress despite being simple is very elegant, as it has a pencil skirt cut and square neckline that personally, I feel flatters my figure.
I would combine it with raised and pearl accessories. Although I am more of a gold lover, I wanted a different look this time.
These accessories are older than my daughter's age hehehe. For example the choker was the one I wore for my marriage, for many years I was tempted to take it apart to create a new accessory, Thank God I never did!🤭
As for the earrings, I remember buying them for a wedding I attended in my first year of marriage.
I'm glad I made investments in the past that saved my pocket today. 😁
Volviendo nuevamente al tema del outfit, el ver la película por enésima vez me ayudó a ver qué después de todo no era tan malo usar un vestido negro, pues Anne Hathaway en su papel protagónico, uso varios looks con el mismo estilo en diferentes eventos prestigiosos.
La clave de todo no radica en lo que llevas... Sino cómo lo llevas.
Going back to the outfit, watching the movie for the umpteenth time helped me to see that it wasn't so bad to wear a black dress after all, as Anne Hathaway in her leading role, wore several looks with the same style in different prestigious events.
The key to it all is not what you wear... It's how you wear it.
MAQUILLAJE // MAKEUP
El maquillaje Social Glam fue uno de los retos más grandes para mí...
Poquísimas veces me maquillo con este estilo, partiendo de que casi no asisto a eventos que lo ameriten.
Por eso pensar en un corte de cuencas, difuminados, glitter y de más para una noche de Gala... Me aterraba un poco.
Perdí la cuenta de cuántos tutoriales vi para mí tipo de ojos, que colores usaría o por donde empezaría... Pero lo que si tenía claro era que quería unos ojos bastante llamativos y mis labios en rojo intenso.
Luego de orarle mucho a Dios para que me diera sabiduría y habilidad... ¡Empecé!
Social Glam make-up was one of the biggest challenges for me.
I rarely wear makeup in this style, since I rarely attend events that require it.
That's why the thought of a bowl cut, smudging, glitter and more for a Gala night? I was a little terrified.
I lost count of how many tutorials I saw for my type of eyes, what colors I would use or where I would start.... But what I did have clear was that I wanted some pretty striking eyes and my lips in deep red.
After praying a lot to God to give me wisdom and skill.... I started!
Después de 3 horas intentando hacer este maquillaje finalmente quede lista para las fotos.
Por cierto, en cuanto al estilismo decidí llevar mi cabello suelto, con ondas en las puntas.
Mi idea inicial era usar un sombrero en negro, (sombrero que también hice) 🤭 Pero... No me gustó cómo me veía. Parecía que iba a un funeral de ricos, mucho negro para mi gusto.🤣
Así que sólo use un tocado con forma de rosa en tela de seda blanca. Me gustó muchísimo el aspecto vintage, elegante y sofisticado que le dio a este outfit.
After 3 hours of trying to do this makeup I was finally ready for the pictures.
By the way, as for the styling I decided to wear my hair down, with waves at the ends.
My initial idea was to wear a hat in black, (hat I also made) 🤭 But.... I didn't like the way I looked. I looked like I was going to a rich people's funeral, too much black for my taste 🤣.
So I just wore a rose shaped headpiece in white silk fabric. I really liked the vintage, elegant and sophisticated look it gave to this outfit.
Me divertí muchísimoooooo en esta sesión... Por supuesto también me estrese bastante los días previos jajaja.
Pero este día fue grato, siempre quise unas fotografías en este estilo y puedo decir que me sentí feliz recreandolas.
Empecé a la 1 de la tarde y culminé a las 5pm. No se cómo pase tanto rato posando jajaja. Mi pobre aro echaba humo.
Otra de las cosas que me disfruté y me permitió relajarme durante la sesión fue la copa de cerveza 😁.
¡Dios! La necesitaba desde el inicio de este concurso.
Luego de 205 fotografías escogí las mejores para ustedes.
I had soooooo much fun in this session.... Of course I was also quite stressed the days before hahaha.
But this day was great, I always wanted some pictures in this style and I can say that I felt happy recreating them.
I started at 1pm and finished at 5pm. I don't know how I spent so much time posing hahaha. My poor hoop was smoking.
Another thing I enjoyed and allowed me to relax during the session was the glass of beer 😁.
God! I needed it from the beginning of this contest.

Sinceramente, con este atuendo y maquillaje me habría sentido cómoda de asistir a una noche de Gala o a una alfombra roja.
Un vestido negro siempre nos permitirá encajar en cualquier evento o lugar.✨
