With the sounds of sirens getting louder and more police cars joining the pursuit, Jason begins to realize that he had made a huge mistake. How did he get here and worst of all, why did he drag, Charlie, his 16 year old brother into this.

”Floor it, Jason! They’re gaining on us!”

The excitement in Charlie’s voice scares Jason. He doesn’t sound concerned rather he’s enjoying himself. Of course he is. He’s always wanted this sort of attention. With all the police cars behind them and the news helicopter tracking the story from above, he must feel like he’s a movie star.

Jason ramps up the speed of his car and watches from the rear-view mirror as the police cars almost disappear from sight. Charlie pokes his head out the window and shouts; ”Haha! So long, suckers!” The grin on his face makes him look like he could be a villain in a movie. Jason is really becoming terrified of how his little brother finds the situation thrilling. Being on the wrong side of the law, they are actually villains in reality but Charles doesn't seem to mind.

Jason wishes he hadn't agreed to this. If only he had listened to his gut and tried harder to convince Charlie. They had already robbed two banks successfully in the past getting away with more than twenty-thousand dollars in total but Charlie wanted more. Twenty-thousand dollars is a lot to them but it wasn't enough for Charlie. He couldn't believe their luck and how easy it was so he wanted to go a third time. Jason had tried to talk him out of the idea but it always felt like talking to a brick wall. Charlie had become addicted and he would do anything to feel that rush of adrenaline and excitement again.

Unbeknownst to Jason, Charlie had already began scheming for the third robbery. They used fake guns to scare the bank cashiers in the past but Charlie had decided that this time around he wanted everything to be real and so they would use real guns. When his plan was set, he tried one last time to convince his big brother. Among what Charlie said, the words that really got Jason interested were; "Third time's a charm bro. We could get away with a fortune this time." Charlie promised that this would be the last time and, impressed with the plan, Jason agreed.

During the robbery, they had done everything as planned. They were in and out of the bank in no time. From their estimates, they had bagged at least thirty-thousand dollars from this single robbery. As they drove away from the bank, they were elated but their joys were interrupted when they heard the sound of police siren behind them. One police car pursued them but they did not stop. Within minutes, more police cars joined the chase and their situation became news.

Now, Jason doesn't know where they went wrong. How did the police find them? Was their a cop in the bank? Did someone trigger a silent alarm? As Jason tries to figure out what went wrong, Charlie seems to be basking in the moment. "Was this part of his plan all along?", Jason wonders. He knows he can't think about that right now. He would do anything to prevent Charlie from going to jail so he ramps up his speed one more time. He drives to the other side of the road and swerves to avoid incoming cars. They get to a point where there is a trailer and a minibus side by side with no space for their car to go through in-between. With no where else to drive, they are forced off the road and into a field.

Realizing how much danger he is putting Charlie in with this reckless pursuit, Jason stops the car as it goes into the field.

"Jason, what are you doing?" Charlie asks as he reaches for his gun on the dashboard.

"There's no need for that, Charlie. I took out all the bullets before we left the house." Jason says with his head down and hands still on the steering wheel.

Like a swarm of insects, police cars gather around them in the field. With guns drawn, policemen come out of the cars aiming at the brothers and ordering them to surrender. Jason knowing they have been bested, says to Charlie;

"I'm sorry for dragging you into this life of crime. I hope you can forgive me one day."

Jason doesn't wait for a response. He steps out of the car with his hands up and is apprehended. Charlie is also taken into custody afterward.
