Save me, save you, save us

“You know a person by their actions, not by the words that come out of their mouth”
…Dr. Glassman, the good doctor.

One last glimpse of light before I sink into eternal darkness. Nobody knows what is on the other end of a black hole but my life is nothing compared to the joy of having the people I love live on. It was not always like this. He was my brother or at least I thought he was. We used to be a family, exploring the universe and discovering it's secrets together. We were well known, a family of space explorers working under the governance of Space corporation the until one of us went rogue, influenced by a dark force, the anti-life.

It couldn’t have happened to anybody, it doesn't just happen to anybody, Marc gave up his humanity to save all life in the universe as we know and how did they thank him, by trying to kill him off along with the anti-life poisoning him. He escaped and after 3 years, he was back, back to enact revenge on all of us. All efforts to talk him out of it proved futile, he was far gone. Nothing could match the power of the anti-life as we knew it, we could only weaken and kill its vessel. How would I bring myself to end my own blood? I knew he wouldn’t think twice before taking me out but he wasn’t thinking straight.

All weapon systems were down, the first things he took out. The rational thing to do was run, live to fight another day but if the corporation couldn’t stop him, then nothing could. The first thing I tried to do was get the rest of my family out of there. Some of the leaders of the corporation fed at the first sight of danger, cowards! They caused this, if only they had let me take him in, tried to find a cure, there must've been one. The more exposed he was out there, the more corrupted his mind became.

In the midst of the chaos, I managed to get him away from the corporation, away from my family. I knew I couldn’t stop him but I could try to talk to him, somewhere inside there was the sweet selfless person I grew up with, my brother. The talking didn’t seem to work. My brother was lost. I brought him out here for a reason, if I couldn’t save him, I would save our family. This was the only thing I could think of, getting Marc into a blackhole, eliminating the vessel, eliminating my brother, but it wasn’t going to be easy. I was no match for the power he possessed.

Things didn’t go as planned, I was drawn into the black hole myself, its force sucking me into it. Marc didn’t care, he was going to move on with his revenge, I clearly didn't matter to him. In a last attempt, I used a retractor beam to pull Marc to me. My life was nothing if it meant saving everybody else. He was no match for the force of the blackhole. I knew this was it, the last time I would get to see my family or anything else for that matter.

We rolled into it's belly, helpless. Just as we were deep in the blackhole and our eyes saw the light no more, I heard,

“Ryan, is that you?”
