Life Phases - The Ink Well Prompt #89 Contest

"This is the 6th time you are repeating the same answer. Your responses aren't helping and it's all your fault!!".
Mrs Davis lash out at her husband angrily.

"Don't let me kick the pocket before my time because of your daily emphasis on this matter. We both are worried and in pain, we can't lie we aren't but pushing all the blame on me is of no need at this point. The incident already occurred and I have taken all necessary actions and provided the state authorities with all information needed".
Mr Davis responded in a painful and concerned way.

"Oooh, and you really believe in these state authorities that won't put the work into heart ? My daughter has been in the middle of no south for the past two weeks with no news or trace of her way about and you expect me to sit, fold my hands and be rest assured she will be found by the weak state force? If you won't rise with me to look for Lucia, I will take it upon myself to bear the cross alone as a loving and concerned mother I am".
She responded angrily.

"Darling , we don't have to take laws into your hands, just let the right authorities handle it while we do our part where necessary, besides our prayer with faith will go a long way". Her husband tried to pacify her.

But without finding meaning in the words of her husband took the car keys and left the house angrily, driving from one junction to the other, searching a dilapidated building but all were futile. She returned home crying.

Lucia who with tears in her eyes has been crying that she wants to meet her parents again. It was on a Friday night, when Lucia's father picked her up from school, then drove her to his office where she had lunch, rested enough as she would have done at home. Her dad has decided to adopt this method as he had lots of chain jobs to round off before Monday.

After the office hours, he took his car key and they both started driving home. Due to the traffic jam, they had to spend lots of time on the road. When they finally passed the traffic jam, Mr Davis' front light pointed to a road seller, being what his wife loves, he thought it would be a good idea to buy some. He told his daughter he would be back in a jiffy and left without locking the car. Lucia, having waited for some minutes, managed to open the car, stepped out and started walking towards a different direction from where her father went.

After settling the seller, he returned but couldn't find Lucia, which made him start walking round places his legs can get to and asking people if they have seen Lucy but there was no positive answer. He went back home devastated and this opened a new chapter of worry, quarreling, agony and crying between him and his wife.

Madam Eliza, who Lucia happened to walk into her compound, took her in and started asking her questions that could help her have a clue but all effort to get valid information was futile as she was 8 years of age.

Mrs Eliza being worried and scared of what people will say or think had many thoughts running through her mind. "It's already dark, should I just drop this kid off on the roadside or hand her over to the police? After thinking, she prayed to God to make a way.

She took the little girl and started heading towards the station, while strolling down the station with her, she heard the police siren, when the vehicle got to them, Mrs Eliza shouted "I got the girl in the news and immediately the police stopped". Pointing Torch light on Lucia's face for identification. After her identity was confirmed, the police took them both to the station.

After the report of the incident by Mrs Eliza, the police called the attention of the Davies' and they rushed to the station joyfully. The family appreciated Mrs Eliza for her act of charity and for being a blessing and Guardian angel to them. From being a stranger now turned into a family friend. The Davis organised a family Dinner which Mrs Eliza was invited and she honoured the invite happy and took her son along side with her.
