"Is everything in place?" Neo asked Sarah after fixing the Halloween decoration he got some days ago.
"Yes honey, everything is in place," She replied.
"I want our prank to be super scary, mom will definitely scream when she steps into the house," Neo said to Sarah again who rubbed her belly because she felt a slight movement of her eight-month-old pregnancy.
"Are you alright dear?" Neo asked as he walked over to her side.
"I am alright, your baby made a slight movement. I felt him shift," She replied.
"You must be stressed because of the Halloween preparation. Please get some rest, I can handle every other thing," Neo insisted and Sarah didn't have a choice.
Neo finished the preparation and they waited patiently for Neo's parents and siblings to show up. After hours of waiting for them, Neo decided to put a call across to his parents and the news about canceling the visit made the couple feel terrible.
"Sorry son, our city is under attack by some nasty creatures and we were advised to stay indoors until the government takes control of the situation. Please stay safe at your end too?" Neo's Dad said and the call disconnected.
He tried calling again but the number wasn't going through anymore, Neo tried the phone numbers of his siblings and none of them was going through.
Neo became restless immediately but didn't tell Sarah anything to prevent any form of panic.
He checked the news but there was nothing about the nasty creatures his Dad mentioned and it confused him.
"Is Dad trying to play pranks on me?" He asked Sarah and told her everything Dad said.
The couple laughed about it and Neo suggested they had dinner since it doesn't look like his family will show up anytime soon.
"Let's wait a little. Dad is funny and you know they can show up anytime," Sarah advised and Neo agreed.
They settled with Netflix and Sarah chose to see a scary Halloween movie.
"Are you sure about that?" Neo asked and she said yes.
Halfway into the movie, they heard a knock on their door and Neo decided to get the door. He opened the door but there was no one there so he decided to check around the house but he found nobody.
"I thought someone knocked now," Neo whispered as he shut the door behind him.
He joined Sarah to continue the movie and a few minutes later, they heard the knock again. Neo was pissed and stormed to the door. Immediately he opened it, he saw his mother running towards the door.
"Run Neo, they took your father and they are coming for you," She screamed from a distance.
Neo quickly rushed to meet her but he was stopped by a light that hindered his vision. The light eventually went off after a minute and his mom wasn't there anymore. While wondering what happened, his apartment light went off.
"Sarah!" Neo screamed and ran inside the house.
He met Sarah panting in the living and he quickly grabbed her.
"There was a monster at the window just now," Sarah said with her lips trembling.
"It's alright! probably the movie is messing with our head," Neo replied but it wasn't enough to calm Sarah down.
They heard a knock again and Neo got his bat before getting to the door. Immediately he opened it, a standing tall alien-looking creature threw an object into the apartment and when Sarah pointed the torchlight to the object, it was Neo's Dad head.
She screamed and Neo quickly raised the bat to defend himself and Sarah.
He was panting heavily when Sarah screamed, "Neo! My water broke"
"Water broke? Isn't she still three months away?" The alien figure who had entered the house asked Neo.
"No! She's due next month" Neo replied before realizing that the figure standing behind him asked the question.
"Is this a joke or something?" He asked and the monster removed his mask.
"Guys, Sarah's water broke" His dad screamed and the apartment light came back on while the other members of the family came out of their hiding.
"We have been around for a while, we didn't know this would scare you guys this much," One of his siblings apologized.
"Let's get Sarah to the hospital first," His dad said to Neo who was fuming already.
They all got into the car and zoomed off to the hospital where the doctor broke the news that the baby was on its way.
Sarah was escorted to the delivery ward and Neo went to trash things out with his family outside the hospital.
"What were you guys thinking?" He screamed at them and they all apologized.
"We just wanted to pay you back with your pranks," His dad replied.
They returned to the hospital after and it wasn't long before the doctor broke the news about Sarah's delivery.
"This is a Halloween to remember," Neo's brother, Jayden told the rest of the family while they were celebrating the child's arrival in the ward.
