Brittany is very dirty, I don’t like the way she smells.
Brittany doesn’t wear nice clothes, I don’t like the way she dress.
Brittany is not fun, I can’t play with her.
Brittany isn’t intelligent.
Brittany might be possessed, everyone at school keeps avoiding her, I don’t want to be associated with someone like that, I don’t want my schoolmates to know that I’ll be living with Brittany.
I heard Brittany steals people things, Mom don’t bring her home so she would not steal our things.

Stella kept chattering as they journeyed to where Brittany resides in their new model Toyota Camry, She kept going on and on as she tried to convince her Mom why she shouldn’t bring Brittany to live with them in their home. (She’s only 16 years old, age mate and classmates with Brittany).

Stella Mom was getting irritated so she decided to turn on the radio and didn’t pay attention to the chatterbox because her mind was already made up about bringing Brittany home to live with them after all Brittany Mom has been a good househelp to them for over 15 years before she passed away due to her illness. Although she didn’t exactly know why she was bringing Brittany home to live with them; as a househelp too just like her Mom was or an adopted daughter, she wasn’t sure. All she was sure about was that the best way to repay Brittany Mom was by bringing Brittany to live with them since she’s now an orphan.

Finally they arrived at Brittany small and low-class neat looking apartment. Stella wasn’t happy hence she didn’t highlight from the car. Stella Mom went inside the house, she found Brittany on the floor with a picture of her Mom and tears in her eyes as an older female neighbour tried to comfort her.

Brittany noticed someone entered the room so she went to see who it was, “good morning Ma’am” bowing her heads low, she knew it was her Mom boss because her Mom took her to Stella house to assist her with work during weekends, she has always admired Stella’s house and use to play in the garden after work before heading home with her Mom.

Accept my condolence Brittany, pack your clothes in your boxes, you’re coming to live with us from now on”, Stella Mom said as Brittany obeyed and did as she was told, the older neighbour thanked Stella Mom for her kind gesture as they departed.

Brittany started to live in Stella house from that day but could barely get peace as Stella kept frustrating her. She would always pick a fight with Brittany and would make house chores difficult for her so Brittany will get frustrated and leave the house and since that wasn’t working because Brittany could endure, she framed Brittany up severally with allegations Brittany didn’t commit with the aim that her Mom would kick Brittany out of the house but that didn’t look like it would happen anytime soon.

Business kept booming for Stella Mom as she had to travel out of state for a business trip even though she was reluctant to travel because she knows that it would be difficult for the girls to live alone together for five days due to their differences.

As the girls lived alone, during the first two days Brittany tried her best to avoid and prevent conflict with Stella despite the much effort Stella was putting to make things difficult and uncomfortable for her.

On the third day Stella fell very sick and the family doctor had to come over at different hours to administer treatment to her but treatment wasn’t all that she needed because she needed someone to take care of her but her Mom was away.
Brittany felt compassion for Stella, she prepared nice meals for Stella, prepared a change of clothes for her, prepared warm water for her to take her bath at different point, she also assisted Stella to the bathroom constantly when she felt pressed. She was beside Stella for two days, taking proper care of her and keeping her company with nice stories and kind gestures.

Stella recovered and asked Brittany for forgiveness, on the fourth day they were already best friends, they did things together and had lots of fun that Stella didn’t really feel her Mom absence.

“Pim pim” a car horned, as the girls rushed to open the main-gate, it was the sixth day. Stella Mom drove in, she had just arrived from her business trip. As she parked her car properly the girls ran towards her as Brittany opened the car door, Stella immediately hugged her mom as she grabbed her Mom handbag and travel box, “welcome back Ma” Brittany said with a big smile as she held her hands below her tummy, “Thank You girls” Stella Mom responded

After few minutes Stella entered her Mom room with a glass of juice as she handed it over to her Mom, her Mom grabbed it in surprise and drank a bit before dropping it on the bedside shelf. Stella quickly grabbed her Mom hands and her eyes were fixed on her Mom own as she said “Mom can you please adopt Brittany? I really want a sister like her”.
Stella mom could barely hold her lips together as her jaw dropped in surprise and curiosity, she thought to herself “what could’ve happened while I was away?” She didn’t think much and didn’t want to bother herself much about what happened between the girls after-all the girls seemed happy and the house was well maintained when she got back, besides she has been considering adopting Brittany for a while now but didn’t take action because she didn’t want Stella to feel unhappy, this request came at the right time. Brittany just found a new home!
